External Job Description
Ensures the timely and effective execution of operating procedures specific to the functional area and mode of transportation. Heavy emphasis will be placed on delivering service excellence to our brands through measuring and managing service providers, continuous improvement, and helping to build contingency plans.
Duties Update management on any transportation problems or issues that have the potential to impact service
Answer questions from the business regarding status of shipments responding to email promptly and courteously
Answer questions from vendors regarding doing business with Ascena
Investigate and follow up on OS&D's from the DC on inbound shipments
Maintain and suggest improvements to Transportation SOP's.
Identify process improvement opportunities within the functional area
Work in collaboration with Data & Analytics Team on invoice inquires
Track/trace shipments to ensure timely delivery of cargo for all brands
Maintain daily shipment reporting and work with service providers and Data & Analytics team when data integrity issues arise
Monitor shipment in various modes proactively working to eliminate roadblocks and ensure timely delivery
Collect and analyze data regarding chronic service issues and help to develop corrective action plans
Coordinate and plan international air and ocean shipments; validate PO's and approve consolidator load plans.
Partner with DC to ensure load maximization for all outbound destinations.
Coordinate expediting opportunities with 3rd party providers pertaining to service recovery
Participate on process improvement or other projects to collect data and requirements as well as help to design and implement solutions

Requirements A minimum of 3 years in Supply Chain focused on Transportation and Global Logistics
Committed to continuous improvement; must be flexible, creative and open to new ideas and ways of doing business.
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Professional written/verbal communications skills including making presentations to small groups. Ability to describe and explain logistics processes and problems to non-practitioners
Customer focus and a sense of urgency in resolving operational issues impacting service
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of transportation and global logistics operations, process improvement, and basic accounting principles.
Proven analytical skills, proactive in addressing challenges and confident in setting and achieving stretch goals
EDUCATION Bachelor's degree preferred or appropriate business experience.
