SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST (GRAINS & EMERGING PLATFORMS)
Job Summary This position will be assigned to Commercial and Product & Innovation Accounting areas within the Finance department. Duties below will vary depending on assignment.
Essential Functions - Evaluate, interpret, and report on an expansive volume of detailed financial data across Grains and Emerging Platforms business units and organizational functions.
- Assist with resolving SAP and BI issues to drive efficiencies and accommodate reporting requirements.
- Consult on issues with monthly CPP (customer & product profitability) process, analysis, and reporting as assigned
- Partner with the Product and Innovation Organization to provide financial analysis for long-term product strategy and near-term product profit and loss
- Support and challenge profit and loss owner for the category, which will operate globally and across a multi-year time horizon
- Support and challenge the development and management against the 3-5 year product strategy and annual product plan
- Partner with the Product and Innovation Organization who will maintain the relevant product market and competitive viewpoint, including product supply-demand dynamics, associated pricing outlook, comparative competitor product and capability assessment and positioning
- Product innovation and commercialization
- Support and challenge the financials for new ingredient discovery, new process development and go-to-market strategy with Product and Innovation Organization
- Integral part of the planning process (Budgets & Forecasts), including model modification, updating, and analysis, as assigned
- Responsible for process improvement and standardization in assigned area
- Complete month end closing tasks, as assigned
- Responsible for cross-training for at least one other area
- Responsible for reviewing and part of the sign off process for various weekly and monthly reports as assigned
- Analyze customer credit limit requirements and prepare limit adjustment business cases
- Interact with the Product Category Managers to ensure a coordinated approach to target setting in terms of volumes, revenues, Gross Margin and Gross Profit by customer and product category

Qualifications - Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two to four years related experience. CPA, CMA or equivalent experience required
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
- Ability to prioritize tasks
