Basic Accountability

The Data Solutions Analysis Senior is responsible for the working with management and other Business units to analyze existing and develop new matching processes or applications for use by TransUnion to link various internal and external data sources.

The Data Solutions Analyst Senior will work closely with business architects to create design documents and develop ETL processes.

After a product is developed and rolled out, the Analyst will serve as the SME, providing support the matching algorithms and data quality for the application.

How You'll Contribute:

• With minimal assistance from management, lead the efforts to define technical requirements, develop solution blueprints, conduct proof-of-concepts and iteratively develop new solutions to Match / Link new data to other TransUnion data sources. These activities include:
• Conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis of new data.
• Develop, document, and test the functional requirements and processes needed to Match / Link the new data to existing TransUnion data sources.
• Develop POCs necessary to validate and quantify the findings/recommendations based on research.
• Develop, document and test the functional requirements and processes needed to incorporate the new data into Products.
• Produce summaries of findings, insights, and recommendations. All recommendations and findings must be supported by facts/data.
• Write detailed requirements for USIT to develop from.
• With minimal assistance from management, lead the efforts to evaluate existing matching algorithms and products looking for opportunities to improve hit rate and/or accuracy.
• Define analysis approach, conduct critical analysis, and develop recommendations based on the finding.
• Produce summaries of findings, insights, and recommendations. All recommendations and findings must be supported by facts/data.
• Present findings to management and stakeholders.
• Write detailed requirements for USIT to develop from.
• Lead customer data analysis/ investigation projects:
• Lead and define/ capture the business / customer issue.
• Define analysis approach, conduct critical analysis, and develop recommendations based on the finding.
• Understand implications to business rules and data quality (if any)
• Test and validate business requirements were implemented correctly
• Resolve issues and escalate where appropriate
• Produce customer facing results.
• Ability to present findings to customer.
• Regularly communicate status with management to keep them informed and involve them if action is needed
• Develop expertise in TU business rules and provide guidance on overall impact of business rule changes to TU systems (downstream impacts).
• Understand data transformation, validation, and maintenance rules/edits.
• Understand data flows from one system to another - feeds into and extracts from the production databases
• Recommend changes to existing business rules to improve the overall data quality and performance of TU data asset
• Act as the business rules / process SME for applications / data developed by our group.
• Mentor and coach junior associates to enable them to be successful in their responsibilities (e.g. effective analysis, testing, communication, and business rules knowledge) as appropriate
• Deliver work that meets high standards of quality, accuracy, and relevance
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 5 - 7 years of IT experience in software/applications development with at least 3 years of experience in data movement and analysis
• Analytical and problem-solving skills leading to practical application
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with both internal company and external market information and data
• Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills required to build client-facing content
• Experience developing business case, problem solving, and analytical skills, with ability to obtain and integrate disparate and complex data sets, synthesize it, and succinctly communicate findings for senior executives
• Experience with interpreting customer business needs and translating them into detailed business requirements
• Must be able to work closely with project teams from different disciplines (IT, Project Management, Sales, Marketing Services, Analytic Data Services, etc.)
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, multiple project demands, and changing business priorities (high multi-tasking demands)
• Experience with supporting customer requests and fulfilling them on time (within SLAs)
• A strong desire to learn and a commitment to personal growth are required personal traits
• Self motivated and can act independently with little direction. Highly organized, results oriented, high personal integrity standards, and exemplify corporate stewardship
