The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for assisting the Business Enterprise Systems Manager in performing various daily operations and maintenance of the core financial information systems utilized by the Business Office. These systems include: PeopleSoft 9.2 Finance (GL, AP, ePro, Purchasing, nVision and Query Reporting), PeopleSoft 9.2 HCM (Integration with ADP PayForce), PeopleSoft 9.0 Campus Solutions (SF Cashiering and SF Integrations with Finance), Kronos Timekeeping and ADP PayForce (ADP Security Management, ADP GL, ADP Reporting, ADP ALINE VISA card, ADP Connection, ADP The Work Number, etcAdditionally, various financial and payer-related systems including: SOVOS Taxport 1099 Reporting, LA County property tax payment integration, Wells Fargo Bank integrations, and Unclaimed Property Reporting. This position is also an IMT business partner bringing system support to all business systems users including: documenting system issue logs, resolving system problems, and resolving user access systems issues. This position also assists with technology enhancements to improve customer services as well as assisting with generating training materials for all supported systems.
Required Education - Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Accounting, or Business
Required Experience - 1 to 3 years in one or more of the following systems
- PeopleSoft Finance 9.0+
- ADP PayForce
- Kronos Workforce Central 7.0+
- Experience working with comprehensive electronic spreadsheets and problem solving
- Report writing using ad hoc query tools, knowledge of relational databases, or writing SQL
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving and planning skills required cluding the ability to prioritize multiple work assignments and manage conflicting tasks while paying attention to detail.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
- Assist in providing user access to system user roles and addressing system security issues.
- Assist in communicating between Business Office personnel and internal systems personnel (IMT) and outside enterprise software vendors (Oracle, ADP, Kronos)
- Provide support to monitor and maintain system data integrity through data audits and integration monitoring and error resolution.
- Assist in answering questions to all system users, system investigation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. This includes the timely resolution of assigned Business Office JIRA tickets and Zendesk tickets.
- Assist in preparing and delivering presentations and answer questions regarding findings and recommendations.
- Assist in importing data from spreadsheet and electronic files from other systems
- Assist with system table maintenance such as GL ChartField values, GL Combo Rules, ADP Earnings Codes, ADP Deduction Codes, ADP Memo Codes, ADP State Codes, etci>
- Assist with the maintenance of existing custom reports, the maintenance of recurring daily, weekly, and monthly report processes, and the development of new custom report setups.
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of documentation related to systems configuration maintenance, recurring report maintenance, and other internal system administrator documentation.
- Assist with the development of training resources/tools for users
- Ability to be resourceful in solving complex data application problems and initiating changes and procedures to meet ongoing user needs.
- Ability to adapt to technology changes and assist with the implementation of new technology or enhancements to existing technology as the University grows and the needs for technology increase over time.
- Assist as a backup to the Time & Labor/Payroll Business Analyst in answering Timekeeping Support e-mails and phone calls and providing assistance with user setups and terminations as needed
- Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position
- Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.
- Provide assistance in other duties as assigned by the Business Enterprise Systems Manager
