Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Financial Analyst.
In this role, the successful candidate We have an exciting opportunity to join our Revenue Cycle Analytics team as a Financial Associate in Outpatient Billing. The principal function of this position is to ensure financial reports are accurate, timely and relevant for decision making purposes. To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree, two years of working experience, and familiarity with Microsoft Office Products, as well as have demonstrated critical thinking and technical analysis skills.
Job Responsibilities: - Creates and distributes daily Index and ATB reports, weekly A/R Trend, Productivity, Credits, and Unbilled reports and monthly Index, ATB, A/R Trend, Productivity, Credits, Unbilled, Denials, OP Cash Goals and 60 Day Cash Collections reports;
- Reviews and reconcile vendor inventory reports on a monthly basis;
- Produces and reconciles vendor inventory including referrals, placements, and collections and reports issues and trends to management as appropriate;
- Develops and produces monthly executive scorecard;
- Collects/analyzes payer data to determine denial, underpayment and overpayment trends for further review;
- Performs detailed analysis regarding revenue cycle and accounts receivable issues and presents analysis to appropriate managers and administration on a weekly and monthly basis through various report mechanisms utilizing various systems (Epic, Acuity, and HTS);
- Responds to standard and ad-hoc financial analysis requested by management timely;
- Executes data mining and in-depth accounts receivable analysis;
- Validates all data and reports for accuracy and quality prior to distribution;
- Maintains data integrity when manipulating data files for purposes of analysis to ensure data does not become corrupted through conscientious use of tools and a system of checks and balances;
- Reports any discrepancies or inconsistencies in data and/or reports to management timely;
- Ensures cash optimization and accounts receivable reduction activity is functioning to fullest capability;
- Works collaboratively with a variety of departments within NYULMC and NYULMCs contracted payers and vendors;
- Assists with providing constructive feedback and developing training tools;
- Trains other analysts as needed;
- Works independently, takes initiative, and thinks critically;
- Performs other duties as assigned;
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree in business administration or healthcare administration or related field plus a minimum of two years of experience in healthcare or related field are required. High level of analytical skills and dynamic communication skills (verbal and written) are required. Microsoft Office Products familiarity required.
Preferred Qualifications: - Ideal candidate will have previous experience in hospital finance and reporting.
- Skilled in data extraction, manipulation and analysis is preferred.
- Microsoft Products proficiency is a plus.
