GENERAL FUNCTION The Vice President of Licensing and Development is responsible to define and develop business strategies to grow the Pearle Vision franchise business. The VP will ensure the plans are effectively communicated and made actionable for all responsible support partners to achieve success.The VP leads, influences and motivates others to achieve defined franchise goals and deliver on expected results. The VP is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships to influence needed vendors, developers/investors, academic schools, and industry leaders and outside key business partners to support Pearle Visionranchise growth.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Creates and maintains pipeline of investors ranging from single unit investors to large institutional investors (private equity, estate planning investors etc.) for future franchise growth.
- Develops, manages and recommends real estate optimization plans and fill in strategies.
- Partners with functional departments including real estate, legal, design, construction, training, supply chain and operations to ensure appropriate support for franchise brand growth strategies and to effectively deliver on business development, brand objectives and initiatives.
- Manages the development of the licensed business model. Involves cross functional departments including finance to access overall business opportunities.
- Develops and assures monthly, quarterly and annual franchise development goals are met. Adjusts plans accordingly to ensure brand plan is achieved annually.
- Active in leading and managing the sales, licensing and store opening process with franchise owners and field teams.
- Responsible for structure and negotiated terms of licensing agreements with potential business partners.
- Enforces FTC regulatory compliance within selling and cycle process.
- Develops franchise advertising, marketing and public relations programs for lead generation including: mixed media, presentations, seminars, referrals, and direct mail programs.
- Reviews and monitors franchise disclosure agreement, fee adjustments and/or modifications to license agreement while partnering with legal to deliver institute annual updates.
- Provides leadership through coaching, direct feedback and support of individual development plans for direct reports.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- 15+ years of Licensing/Franchising experience
- Thorough understanding of principles and strategies for building successful franchise systems
- Strong business modeling, budget/forecasting and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask and manage complex situations/projects
- Strong negotiation skills
