Description The Vice President, Business Development leads the business development function in our Department of Defense (DoD) Group, a $675 million dollar group, with customers in all of the DoD markets in support of delivering multiple mission-critical services and products. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Business Development, with strong dotted line reporting into the SVP of the DoD Group. This Group level VP BD is responsible for developing and guiding winning strategies for key business opportunities across the divisions, utilizing deep domain knowledge of the customers, and in-depth understanding of the unique BD/capture and proposal requirements needed to win business.
EngilityoD Group provides advisory services with emphasis on technical analysis and planning, operations research, requirements specification, systems engineering, test and evaluation, technical acquisition and planning, and program management.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform as the DoD Group Business Development leader, providing the necessary leadership and guidance to division management teams and programs to achieve and surpass revenue, profit, growth targets, and increase win rates.
- In collaboration with the Group Senior Vice President and division teams, oversee the development and implementation of growth strategies.
- Working within the Group, Corporate BD, and other Engility Corporation organizations, develops growth strategies and roadmaps that encompass the full range of Engility Corporationapabilities offered to our customers.
- Create and implement business development strategies to identify, qualify, and pursue large opportunities.
- Collaborates within the DoD Group BD/Capture, division management, and/or Program Managers to gather the information and data required to develop win strategies and gain approval on pursuits.
- Identifies and qualifies opportunity leads.
- Responsible for adherence to BD/Capture processes and gate reviews up to Phase I.
- Establishes initial customer contacts and assesses and reports competitor capabilities.
- Supports transition of pursuits to Capture leads and maintains that connection to continuously feed market intelligence to the capture team.
- Collaborate with the Senior Vice President Corporate Business Development in the implementation of key business development and marketing communications strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and leverage existing relationships with key customer decision makers and acquisition officials.
- Active ds-onader in capture and proposal development, strategic solution development, and marketing communications.
- Collaborate with division management teams and programs to effectively develop, implement, and successfully execute a growth strategy.
- Collaborate on the preparation and delivery of written and oral presentations to customers and Engility Corporation Executive team members.
- Ensure consistent value-added input and thought leadership with regards to emerging needs and challenges, new acquisition criteria, and customer priorities.
- Enable retention and development of BD talent that sets us apart from our competitors.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant business, technical, or professional field of study
- Background should include providing Business Development leadership in complex operations.
- Proven reputation of establishing and maintaining credibility, and influencing senior levels of DoD customers
- Ten (10) years of demonstrated successful experience providing Business Development leadership in the DoD market to include building and managing pipelines.
- Demonstrated success in qualifying opportunities and winning within the DoD market space.
- Ability to obtain a US Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to travel, as needed.
- Experience functioning collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Extensive knowledge of strategic planning, business development, capture, and proposal best practices.
- Able to effectively prioritize and work independently.
- Ability to successfully communicate with and influence customers, corporate executive management, and other employees at all levels.
- Knowledge of Federal business acquisition process and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
- Proven leadership, strong organization management skills, and ability to operate independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Skilled in the use of business software, including use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- An orientation towards solving, rather than solely identifying problem areas is a preferred characteristic of the ideal candidate.
- Travel Required: 25%-50
