Responsibilities The vice president, National Space Operations is responsible for managing a broad acquisition portfolio supporting Aerospace customers in critical mission areas. The role includes the oversight and guidance of Aerospace support to two major mission acquisition areas within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO); Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT). It also includes the NSG lead for working Space Warfighting Construct (SWC) corporate enterprise activities. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers, scientists and supporting staff. In addition, the role includes collaboration with the NSG SVP to work across the entire NSG portfolio.
This position will report to National Systems Group, Senior Vice President and will be located in Chantilly, Virginia.
Key Functions - Provides executive leadership to senior-level NRO SIGINIT and GEOINT customers to include working across the national security space enterprise and across the corporation
- Routinely engages with intelligence community and industry leaders as a corporate ambassador
- Works with NRO customers to build and maintain strong working relationships
- Works across the corporation to build and maintain strong relationships with the Engineering and Technology Group and the corporate program offices
- Provides technical expertise and consults with senior management regarding recommendations on pertinent engineering issues
- Leads a team of technical experts and support staff to accomplish Aerospacetrategic imperatives and achieve mission success
- Develops and mentors key staff to expand their impact and capabilities
Qualifications Required - Bacheloregree in engineering or other technical discipline
- TS/SCI security clearance
- 20 years of technical experience, including satellite, launch and ground systems acquisitions
- 15 years of direct people management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of customers and corporate staff
- Demonstrated experience leading teams to accomplish mission objectives
Preferred - Advanced degree in engineering or other technical discipline
- Major System Acquisition experience, including satellite, launch and ground systems
- Direct experience working in the intelligence community
