Reporting to Clarinda Regional Health Center's Board of Directors (CRHC) and Vice President of Health System Services, Bryan Health, the President/Chief Executive Officer of CRHC directs all functions of the health center in keeping with the overall policies established by the Governing Board and in compliance with regulatory guidelines in order that the strategic objectives of the institution can be attained. Also, provides leadership and direction in ensuring the efficient, economical, and effective utilization of resources to meet the identified needs of the service region through quality medical care and all health service programs. This position will be employed by Bryan Health as part of the affiliation agreement with CRHC. The President/Chief Executive Officer's principle duties and responsibilities include:
· Adheres to and leads from the Mission, Vision and Beliefs of CRHC and Bryan Health.
· Leads the overall operations of all health center programs and facilities and establishes goals and the administrative direction for the organization.
· Participates with the Governing Board in establishing mission, vision, and strategic objectives for the institution based on identified health needs of the community.
· Establishes and revises short and long range plans which support the institution's mission, vision, objectives and strategic initiatives.
· Works collaboratively with the Medical Staff to assess, plan, address, and monitor the quality of our health care delivery, operational considerations for safe patient care, health needs of the community and recruitment and retention needs.
· Assists, as needed and coordinates the orientation process of new Governing Board members to their role on the CRHC Board.
· Informs and advises the Governing Board regarding legislation, public policy, current trends, and activities in health care to facilitate policy-making.
· Serves as liaison to the Governing Board, the medical staff, the community, and all departments of the health center and associated organizations on behalf of CRHC and Bryan Health.
· Collaborates with the medical staff, including its elected leadership and all other physicians.
· Oversee the operations of the medical clinics' including the employed physicians and mid-level providers including physician engagement, retention, and recruitment.
· Organizes the functions of the hospital through appropriate departmentalization and delegation of duties including accountability and authority.
· Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the senior leaders and managers to help them achieve CRHC's goals.
· Leads the senior leadership team to meet the needs of the staff including employee engagement within the work environment, recruitment, and retention.
· Monitors a system responsible for accounting, budgeting, responsibility reporting, internal controls, auditing, and cost reporting.
· Ensures compliance with organization-wide policies and procedures related personnel policies and practices that adequately support patient care, services, and programs of CRHC.
· Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring CRHC operations and its programs and physical properties, and initiating changes where required.
· Ensures the image of the CRHC and Bryan Health is portrayed in a positive and progressive way to simulate community engagement and loyalty to the CRHC services and fundraising activities.
· Represents health center in its relationships with City Council, other health agencies, government agencies, third party payers, and external organizations.
· Builds relationships with key constituent groups including economic development group, chamber of commerce, business community, school system, other community health care providers, public health department, etc.
· Maintains professional growth and development through education, seminars, workshops, and personal affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
· Serves as the CRHC's liaison to Bryan Health including coordinating and synchronizing services, communication, programs, needed resources, and specialty physician relationships on an ongoing basis.
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate for the Chief Executive Officer position will be a seasoned healthcare executive with a required five to seven years of executive level leadership experience as CEO, COO, CFO or similar role working in a successful organization. Progressive physician relationship management and collaboration experience is preferred. The candidate must have a master's degree in Health Care Administration, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent educational experience.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
The new President/CEO will be required to live within the Clarinda school district.
