As a Vice president and Director of Software Architecture and Development you will envision architect design and implement financial systems across front middle and back office engaging as a technology leader building and maintaining a high-level of technical and business credibility with business users system developers and operations staff.
Responsibilities: - Responsible for developing Enterprise Common Service Frameworks including Messaging Bus BPM Cloud Common UI Alert/Event Report Web Services and Security solutions as well as key technology and business transformation initiatives.
- Providing architectural guidance and oversight of development teams across the bank.
- Successful realization of business opportunities via delivering timely and cost efficient IT systems promoting the tenet of service oriented architecture and reuse of existing assets by standardizing commoditizing and automating system and business processes to drive cost efficiencies.
- Work with / lead / guide / influence multiple blended teams of full-time employees and onshore/offshore contractors operating at multiple locations across time zones including US China India.
- Job duties are varied and complex and does require excellent architecture technical analytical communication and conflict resolution skills financial domain expertise including quantitative analysis and trading/P&L cash flows accounting skills and strong business judgment
- Deep understanding of financial products trading strategies pricing models P&L attributions Risk calculations and Accounting.
- Programming skills in J2EE Rules BPM Cloud UI Enterprise caching various Open Source like TomCat JBoss and best of breed commercial productions DB2 Oracle C++ .NET and scripting languages with in-depth knowledge of related enterprise best practices standards and libraries.
- Fluent in XML and familiar with financial industry standards such as FpML.
- Experience integrating heterogeneous custom and enterprise class products tools as well as Database Appliances and Reporting/Business Analytics.
- Extensive hands-on experience with web-services and knowledge of SOA web services standards and other approaches to service-oriented integration.
- Extensive hands-on experience working with databases including competency in VLDB (Teradata Exadata).
- Extensive hands-on experience with source code management best practices continuous integration and automated testing. Experience with test-driven development a plus.
- Strong presentation/white boarding skills; lead architecture discussions in front of business leaders and technically strong colleagues.
- Strong problem solving abilities and the ability to work well under pressure and long hours.
- 15+ years of Enterprise level architecture experience in major financial service firms.
- Experience in various software development approaches from Waterfall to Agile.
- Capable of identifying power bases and anticipate human dynamic in the working environment. Excellent conflict resolution technique and capable for building consensus with business technology and management across multiple organizational structures.
- Mentoring of experienced and junior Architects.
