Vice President rketing & Sales
Reports to: CEO
Classification: Exempt
Job Function: The VP rketing & Sales is part of Bison s Leadership Team and is responsible for leading and managing Bison s Go-To-Market organization, including the sales team (both direct and manufacturer s reps) business development team, marketing communications and inside sales to grow both top-line and margin through OEM, Distribution and E-commerce channels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Business Strategy: Key contributor to define and implement Bison s short- and long- term strategies. An advocate throughout the organization in terms of communicating strategic goals, ensuring that the message is properly communicated and understood across the organization. Oversee that a data based decision methodology is being used to drive decisions, including new product development. * Organization: Ensure that Bison has the proper organizational structure in place, with the right people in the right positions. Keep morale high to ensure that the Go-To-Market team has the skills necessary to be successful. Shape, motivate, and develop the most effective staff to consistently meet the company s strategic goals in the power transmission, industrial automation and motion control markets. Ensure a solid succession plan is developed and implemented.
- Sales Growth: Coach the sales team to effectively manage their territories in the most efficient manner. Work with Business Managers to develop sales plans to ensure that company growth and margin objectives are achieved. Validate that the sales team follows-up on sales leads and target customers. Implement and track the right metrics to assure success.
- Customer Engagement: Travel the territory to support Regional/ District Sales Managers and contracted Manufacturer s Reps. Develop and implement customer intimacy strategies to ensure that customer relationships become a sustainable competitive advantage. Develop a strong strategic account management process which includes a plan to build critical relationships with the executive management of key customers. This includes facilitating relationship building across all functions of customers organizations with senior executives in other key functions at Bison to build their peer relationships.
- Marketing: Lead the marketing team to ensure that internal and external messaging (press releases, advertising, promotional activity, digital, website etc) is done in accordance with company objectives and guidelines suring that Bison s name recognition remains in the forefront of the industry. Ensure that marketing activity is driving new leads and that the lead management process is effective.
- Budgets: Prepare, implement and manage department budgets to align with sales forecasts and company objectives. Develop direct reports capabilities to become responsible for budgets within their areas of responsibility. Ensure margin protocols are being managed at all levels of the organization.
- Intangibles: Ability to see and plan for long-term success, have patience to understand that it takes time for work to get done, and be demanding enough to ensure that it does. Be a leader in terms employee engagement and coaching to drive performance.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises Business Development Managers, Sales Managers and Marketing Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor s Degree or equivalent
10+ years of experience in a Business Management, Sales or Sales/ Marketing leadership position within the Industrial B2B space
Prior power transmission and/or motion control application/ sales experience
International experience an advantage
Job Requirements: Must be able and willing to travel as needed to accomplish the Duties and Responsibilities. Expected travel up to 30-50% of time.
