The Role: The Global Tax and Treasury Vice President will lead the tax strategy, tax compliance and treasury activities for our global organization. This person will be responsible for the Company's worldwide tax planning, reporting, audits and compliance as well as the treasury function, including global banking relationships and foreign exchange management.
The Vice President, Tax & Treasury will report to the CFO.
Responsibilities: Tax
- Foster effective working relationships with other functions within finance and with other business units in the company
- Present company's global tax strategies and positions to executive management, external auditors, and the Board of Directors
- Evaluate company's international tax structure and implement global tax optimization strategies
- In partnership with the regional accounting teams and service providers, prepare and/or review all local and federal tax returns and estimates ensuring timely payments and compliance
- Supervise tax accounting and financial reporting in compliance with ASC 740 and manage worldwide tax provision, valuation allowance, and deferred tax account reconciliations
- Manage all tax audits, assessments and requests for information
- Review and monitor transfer-pricing agreements and ensure proper documentation to compliance requirements
- Manage sales, use and property tax reporting, VAT and other non-income tax issues
- Stay apprised of existing and proposed tax legislation that could impact our operations
- Manage and implement tax reporting, compliance and accounting policies
Treasury
- In partnership with the regional accounting teams, manage all cash management activities, including cash concentration, wires and account funding; Ensure adequate liquidity for working capital needs and invest short-term excess cash; Manage intercompany cash flows, including intercompany loans, dividends and capital injections
- Supervise company's risk management and global insurance program
- Oversee global banking relationships; Negotiate fees and implement bank technologies, products and services to improve cash-cycle and simplify company operations
- Support CFO in developing and executing the Company's financing strategies
- Develop and execute a foreign exchange strategy for the Company
- Manage investment strategy and advisors
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures; develop and monitor treasury operational policies; provide financial statement disclosures and support audits as necessary
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with 15+ years of overall experience in the areas of Tax & Treasury
- CPA or MBA strongly preferred
- Experience working in an international business environment a major plus
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting for income taxes
- Strong analytical, Excel and systems skills are required
- Track record of managing global service providers to ensure work is completed on time, with quality and on budget
- Experience reporting to C-Level executives and Board and Audit Committees
- Ability to maintain productive work partnerships with other departments and demonstrate strong problem-solving and leadership skills
