The Commercial Banking (CB) Finance & Business Management (F&BM) Functional Control team is responsible for the oversight, governance and development of the control environment including developing and administering the Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA), control identification and defining proper testing methodology, issue and action plan management, audit prep and management, control metrics and reporting, business resiliency, as well user tool and model governance and controls.
The Vice President - Business Operations Manager will be a part of an independent team within CB F&BM with the responsibility to assist in implementing an effective control framework across the F&BM organization. This role will have a specific focus on program and project management in order to oversee, and improve where appropriate, the control environment within Finance & Business Management. The team partners across Finance & Business Management, WLS, Risk, Compliance, and other teams to develop programs/processes to mitigate these risks. The CB F&BM Control Team is also included in strategic, as well as day-to-day business decision-making discussions, providing guidance through a Control and Governance lens.
Key Responsibilities: Program and Project Management, including framework development, management, execution, and reporting
Executive level presentations regarding status of project execution
Projects impacting CB F&BM teams, including Client Data Management, Business Support Management, Governance/Control Programs, and other Controller, CFO or Business Management driven projects as needed
Cross-LOB or CB-wide initiatives requiring CB F&BM representation, driven by regulatory actions or audit requirements
Action Plan development and fulfilment
Interface and collaborate with other CB Business Operations teams, key CB business partners/SME's and functional groups to do the following:
Coordinated initiatives and readiness reviews
Assist with development and implementation of new procedures
Other initiatives, as they arise
- Bachelor's degree
- 7 to 10 years in the financial services industry - background in operational risk management, audit, compliance, or finance and business management preferred
- Project Management experience: leading projects, developing agendas, assigning tasks and responsibilities, regular progress reporting
- Strong interpersonal skills - ability to communicate across the organization and to senior leaders
- Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Patient and Collaborative team player able to coach less experienced colleagues
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with an orientation to details
