Redneck Trailer Supplies is the nation's largest distributor of trailer parts and supplies and we are seeking a Vice President of Operations. We have been in business since 1979 and now have 20 branches in 17 states.
The purpose of the Vice President of Operations position is to oversee the day-to-day operation and sales functions at all branches and the central warehouse. Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports resulting in safe, profitable, high performance business units. Insure that the core customer service values of the company are practiced at all business units. Drive change as necessary for the company to continue to improve our people, processes, and performance. Responsible for branch expansion activities. Responsible for the overall sales performance of the divisions, sales planning, and execution of corporate and divisional sales initiatives. Duties include, but are not limited to,
- direct activities of the Operations Staff Managers, affect positive change within the divisions, while promoting adherence to the company policies and procedures
- work with the Safety and Risk Manager to ensure that safety initiatives are properly administrated in all locations
- oversee the Operations Staff Managers in the preparation of their budgets, provide on-going support to keep the results within the plan to yield the bottom line expected
- develop performance programs and methods to measure those programs to ensure that the company objectives are being met
- work with CFO and Credit Manager to monitor outstanding AR balances and take appropriate actions on a customer by customer basis
- establishment of ROI targets and monthly reporting at staff meetings of current progress and communicate to all appropriate management to address any issues that would cause ROI goals not to be met
- work with VP of Human Resources to ensure that the HR programs are properly administrated at all business units including programs that will improve morale, retention, and development of the employees
- monitor the recruiting, reference checking, and hiring processes used by reporting business units and making sure one level up approval policy is being followed
- monitor the sales training programs for each division
- monitor Critical Call reports and follow up with the respective managers where a strategy or trend is developing
- ensure proper policies are documented, all safety measures are in place, and employees are receiving necessary training
- work with VP of Sales and Marketing to maintain proper product mix, to introduce new products, and to measure financial performance of each product
- establish priorities and procedures to regulate the processes, tasks, and activities of the assigned departments; use staff effectively to perform tasks or handle responsibilities based on their skills
- foster and encourage a work environment characterized by mutual respect, and effectively handle any disagreements or conflicts that may arise
- plan the future direction of the assigned department based upon organizational goals and anticipated changes in the external and internal environment
- recruit, check references, hire, and develop employees for the assigned departments

Minimum Requirements: - Exceptional communication skills: written and oral
- Prior experience in managing multiple locations across the United States
- Ability to travel is crucial and the successful candidate should expect to travel on an average of 25% of the time, but travel could be more demanding based on business needs
