The Senior Vice President (SVP) will lead all strategy and planning work for Weber Shandwickop consumer health accounts. He or she will report directly to the EVP of strategy and help lead a talented team of Weber Shandwick strategists. A le brain thinkerpable of unearthing and connecting disparate quantitative and qualitative data points, this person will be responsible for developing and overseeing evidence-based arguments that support strategies and inspire creative teams. This position is best suited to someone equally adept at developing lateral thoughts individually, and coaxing those thoughts from other planners (and non-planners) on the team.
We are looking for someone who is consummately curious and interested in solving intellectual problems in unique and inspiring ways. This person will be comfortable working with incomplete information, developing hypotheses and finding connections between culture, consumers, corporations and the media.
Position Description: - Work closely with EVP of Strategy and junior planners to develop breakthrough strategies for key consumer health accounts
- Own planning projects from inception to completion: create research plans; develop insights from observations; write briefs; brief creative, account and client teams; facilitate and participate in ideation / strategic thinking sessions
- Lead or support (primarily consumer health) new business opportunities and RFPs
- Cultivate fruitful relationships with key decision-makers across the business including account, creative and digital strategists, and research and analytic experts
- Manage and train junior strategic planning team members (within strategy and on client teams)
The VP/SVP of Strategy is a le brain thinkero unearths and connects disparate quantitative and qualitative data points into coherent, evidence-based arguments in support of strategies that inspire our creative teams. The candidate must also be adept at collaborating with digital, creative and account teams throughout the organization to advance and package ideas for Weber clients. The candidate will have experience in leading and developing junior strategists / planners.
This is the ideal position for someone who enjoys digging for information, developing hypotheses, working with incomplete information (yes u get to make stuff up!) and has a nose for both the culture at large and for business.
Position Description: - Work primarily independently to support strategic development for key accounts but will also periodically collaborate with rest of the strategy team and wider cross-functional teams.
- Conduct both, primary and secondary, quantitative and qualitative research for existing and potential clients
- Turn observations into insights
- Lead responses to new business opportunities and RFPs
- Develop and present client decks and pitches
- Perform business analysis, data mining, and visual storytelling
- Actively contribute to client meetings, creative brainstorms and strategy sessions
- Cultivate fruitful relationships with key decision-makers across the business including CRLs, creative and digital strategists, research/analytics experts, and account teams
- Manage and train more junior strategic planning team members (within strategy team and on client teams)
Qualifications Basic Qualifications: · 10+ years of relevant experience (welooking for someone with at least three years of agency planning experience, but welcome backgrounds of all sorts)
· Proven track record of developing insight based strategies that underpin successful campaigns (some consumer health experience preferred)
· An active curiosity about brands, culture and what makes people tick
· Knowledge of various media including earned, social and paid
· Ability to manage multiple challenging projects at one time within budget
