JOB SUMMARY: Assistant Vice President (AVP) officers direct multiple functions or a department within a division, ensuring alignment and implementation of strategy, goals and objectives. AVPs provide guidance and coaching to department leadership in the implementation of major programs and System-wide initiatives. Decisions made by AVPs have significant impact on particular functions and may have some impact on the entire organization. AVPs direct staff performance to support the mission.
AVPs typically are recognized as a junior executive level position that requires capabilities, experiences and skills commensurate with leading a mid-level IT organization.
The AVP of Network Services provides technical expertise and executive leadership to lead all aspects of high-volume enterprise network operations for the infrastructure, including wide-area networks, datacenter networks, Reserve Bank LANs and Boundary Security (firewalls). This position will primarily be responsible for Run Operations and will collaborate with peers in the Plan and Build teams to ensure infrastructure availability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develops and maintains broad ranged strategic plans, internal processes, and staff capabilities to support business needs and ensure customer commitments are met for service quality and cost efficiency.
2. Directs staff and oversees the functional responsibilities as it relates to implementing key strategies and critical business priorities at an organizational level.
3. Collaborates with management and other Officers to build solutions and maintain trust-based relationships. Accountable for efficient, cost effective spending and financial responsibility within budgets.
4. Maintains an insightful understanding of current happenings, the external environment and major initiatives/best practices within the Federal Reserve System and how they may affect employees. Partners with management to advocate, support, and participate in business strategic planning initiatives.
5. Drives performance and ensures the use of best practices and strategy alignment when solving issues. Makes recommendations surrounding workforce resources and commits to the necessary resources to be successful. Develops solutions that impart business accountability, fairness, and appropriate concern.
6. Encourages and promotes culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement. Recognizes and advocates for ideas that hold the greatest potential for improving effectiveness, efficiency, and business values.
7. Establishes and maintains regular and effective communication channels with officers, managers, and system counterparts, to ensure proper sensitivity to needs of the organization and employees. Facilitates open communication that encourages the expression of diverse ideas and opinions.
Performs other duties as required. Follows all Federal Reserve policies, procedures, and consistently demonstrates sound judgment.
