The Vice President, Global Supply Chain will implement the standard Supply chain model to optimize and enhance global operating results across the division. This role is responsible for developing and evaluating initiatives that impact supplies, inventory control, equipment, and vendor management.
Responsibilities STRATEGIC PLANNING
Function as the in-house strategic owner for building, managing, maintaining, and evolving the supply chain and logistics platform that will drive seamless delivery execution to Medifastustomers in all targeted global markets.
Work alongside the senior management team to develop the companynternational business plan, including: strategic sourcing and procurement, vendor management, materials management, logistics, and SOPs.
Define global supply chain objectives in line with short and long-term goals, and work with related departments to determine manufacturing capacity requirements and to design a distribution network to enable growth objectives.
OPERATIONS PLANNING & EXECUTION
Coordinate manufacturing, distribution, transportation, inventory planning, and engineering activities towards the accomplishment of company goals and objectives for increased sales and service excellence.
Manage, organize and direct a team to maximize throughput, improve manufacturing processes and quality of product, with focused attention toward optimized operating expenses and investment returns.
Establish a reliable network of manufacturing and logistics operating partners to ensure reliable and effective end-to-end supply chain execution of Medifastroducts in line with customerspectations for on-time delivery.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Oversee the global supply chain budget and financial performance, along with key service, quality and cost metrics integrated across all departmental disciplines.
Work collectively with the corporate finance team to create baseline budgets for all core departmental functions and function as the primary owner for overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual results.
Manage cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve ongoing operational cost optimization.
PROCUREMENT AND VENDOR RELATIONS
Work with the companyroduct research and development teams to determine materials requirements and then driving the sourcing strategy to identify, negotiate, and manage third party vendor relationships.
Streamline the sourcing process to drive fair and consistent management of all key material and service vendors.
Establish market-based guidelines for cost and quality expectations for all vendors, such that the company can drive value-based performance across all cross-functional groups within the supply chain department.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT
Develop incremental new capabilities and drive supply chain initiatives to support supply chain performance toward the achievement of the companyrowth objectives over a multi-year strategic plan.
Benchmark and work to understand similar environments to implement best practices.
Create a balanced scorecard for integrated management of all key performance metrics across all relevant disciplines across the supply chain department, and drive measurement and accountability over time.
LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT
Responsible for providing key leadership, direction, organization, management, monitoring and compliance of the roles, activities and proceedings of all supply chain teams.
Provide effective leadership, direction and coaching to direct and indirect reports including, but not limited to, delegating, staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations.
Build a collaborative culture within the department such that all groups effectively work together and across other groups within the organization and set high standards for excellence in attitude and customer service.
Qualifications - Bacheloregree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. MBA preferred.
- 15+ yearsogressive experience in supply chain or manufacturing operations.
- 10+ years of people leadership experience (15+ person organization) with hands on and strategic management of objectives. Demonstrated ability to build a strong, talented team.
- Demonstrated success in continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, high pressure environment of a fast-growing international company.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel 40% of the time domestically and internationally.
- Experienced in managing various aspects of international trade and global logistics operations.
- Experience with ecommerce operations and cross-border logistics within North America, Asia, and Europe.
