As the Associate VP of Student Account Management you will be responsible for the account receivables team and executing a strategic roadmap for Financial Services Operations with the objective of enhancing the student and employee experience. Position Summary: Bridgepoint Education is in search of an Associate Vice President of Financial Aid & Services with expertise in Higher Education Financial Services Student Account Management to work at the new Tempe location reporting to the Vice President Financial Aid & Services.
The AVP, an expert in Title IV, A/R Management, Vendor Management, and Customer Service, will be a key leader in partnering, collaborating, and leading financial services teams to effectively manage Accounts Receivable for the university and Title IV Repayment.

1) The AVP of Student Accounts Management will be responsible for student account receivables, vendor management and Title IV repayment management by developing and executing a strategic roadmap for Financial Services Operations, including internal staff and external vendors with the objectives of enhancing the student and employee experience, increasing the operational effectiveness of the organization, and creating an environment of high-performing staff.
2) The AVP will also be responsible for reviewing current developmental opportunities for all staff levels, partnering with Student and Enrollment Services, Learning & Development, and business improvement to effectively manage active and inactive student accounts receivables, vendor performance for collections and Title IV repayment management.
3) The AVP will support the Vice President, Financial Aid & Services to work towards creating a Great Place to Work, hiring, retaining and developing those who believe in the mission and each other to enhance the student and employee experience.
Critical Job Duties:
- Understand, pursue, and strive to fulfill Bridgepoint's mission and core values.
- Develop and execute a vendor management strategy for inactive student account receivables leveraging industry best practices such as champion-challenger.
- Responsible for fostering effective communication within the Financial Services department and outside of the department through collaboration with key stakeholders and internal teams.
- Develop and execute a Title IV repayment management strategy to improve the institutions' cohort default rate.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance people, processes, and systems through the creation of robust analytics, effective performance management, and talent management.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead large teams, motivate and manage staff; delegate and reassign tasks, monitor production and quality of work, set performance standards, assess individual capabilities and workloads, conduct performance evaluations.
- Demonstrated experience managing resources across multiple teams, locations and systems.
- Assist with leading the recruitment, development, retention, and advancement of departmental staff.
- Ensure technical knowledge is kept current by attending relevant industry training events.

Minimum Requirements: - Excellent leadership, management, communication, analytical and organization skills.
- Knowledge of the proprietary educational environment and how training and education relates to the job market.
- Strong compliance orientation and experience with regulatory environment and audits.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and all university student information systems and applications.
Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum 12-years post-secondary education finance-related experience.
- Minimum 7-years post-secondary education finance leadership role experience.

Education: - Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or approved nationally accredited institution required.
- Master's degree strongly preferred.
- Degree(s) preferred in Finance, Accounting, Organizational Management or related field.
