Ketchum DC's Public and Corporate Affairs practice is in search of a Vice President to act as senior client counselor and team manager for high profile corporate accounts. The ideal candidate will have a combination of Capitol Hill, political campaign and PR agency experience. The position will manage account planning, project management and execution and supervision of the account teams. Additional responsibilities include financial management of accounts and new business development.
About the Job - Serve as senior contact for clients, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of clientssiness; develop strategies for implementing successful client programs.
- Provide strategic guidance to clients on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address client needs.
- Troubleshoot clientsoblems as they arise; seek senior management input whenever appropriate.
- Motivate team members by promptly reviewing work and providing constructive feedback; encourage teams to take advantage of training and development opportunities.
- Help account team(s) work effectively and in the best interests of client(s); maximize agencyetwork of resources to enhance client service.
- Demonstrate proficiency in writing and editing materials including client media materials, byline articles, client correspondence and reports.
- Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others.
- Take a leadership role in new business development, proposal writing and presentations; work with account teams to build incremental business.
- Manage account financials including budget allocation and control, time sheets, client billing, supplier invoicing and purchase orders; ensure team billability and account profitability.
- Participate in external company promotion through articles, speeches, presentations, professional memberships, etc.
- Begin to build a leadership role in outside organizations to increase Ketchumisibility in marketplace and create new business opportunities.
Qualifications - Bacheloregree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Political Science, or a related field. Masteregree in a relevant field desirable.
- At least nine years of agency, trade association, government and/or corporate public affairs experience, preferably in the food policy sector.
- Expertise in at least one additional policy area.
- Superior analytic writing skills.
- Demonstrated competency in strategy and plan development; writing and presentations; media relations, and consultative selling.
- Proven track record in growing business.
- Direct experience in building and managing account teams.
Proficiency in social & digital media
Demonstrate experience in the application of digital analytics in developing communications strategies
