KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES The successful candidate will be expected to be the driving force in strategic and operational leadership in advancing the non-profitission and related organizations through the design and execution of a comprehensive advancement plan that generates financial support from individuals, foundations/corporations, and state and federal grants. Must have a proven track record of successfully closing on major gifts. The candidate must have a strong vision and remain actively engaged in helping to lead staff and the Board to institutionalize philanthropy and fund development for the organizations while promoting accountability and ensuring a high level of compliance standards and the effective stewardship of funds. Strong organizational, supervisory, and leadership capabilities are required. Exceptional communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively to establish an inclusive vision and plan, and the ability to hire, supervise and inspire their staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A Bachelor's degree is required with a Master's degree in a relevant field preferred. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience as a development and advancement professional, preferably in the nonprofit sector, is required. The successful candidate will be committed to the mission of the non-profit and related organizations, and have the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Personal integrity, a strong work ethic, enthusiasm and energy, excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, planning skills, and team management skills are essential.
