Position Description Overview
Responsible for leading all International planning and income tax compliance including repatriation planning, foreign tax planning to minimize ETR and cash taxes. This includes oversight of the preparation of the local country income tax returns and interaction with the statutory reporting requirements, the oversight and review of the US federal 5471 income tax return preparation and the corresponding US Form 1118. This position will also be responsible for identifying and leading strategic tax planning efforts for the company that span beyond international and will be cross functional. This person will support (along with the International Tax Team) the Tax Compliance & Tax Reporting VP in the annual and quarterly income tax provision calculations as needed and interacting and coordination of the US consolidated 1120 for First Data.
Job Specific Responsibilities
- Leads and directs a team of tax planning and compliance professionals primarily responsible for international related income tax compliance
- Identifies and leads strategic high value tax planning opportunities for the company. Project manages these efforts across functional lines.
- Full support and coordination of the quarterly and annual income tax provision and income tax compliance with special attention to the international income tax matters.
- Identification of all areas of risk identification and overview of FIN 48 matters for international income tax exposures.
- Lead and coordinate the desired structuring for cross border transactions, due diligence matters and relevant disclosures, guarantees and indemnity related to potential acquisitions and divestitures.
- Provide regular coaching and mentoring to direct reports and others members of the staff as necessary.
- Provide required input to Senior Vice President of Tax on staff and outside professional service fee spend for the team.
Job Requirements - Bacheloregree in Accounting
- JD or Masteregree in Tax with CPA
- 10+ years of experience in the income tax field and at least 8 specializing in international income tax and exposure to European, Asian and Latin American tax issues.
- Strong knowledge of current and potential future tax legislation.
- Strong knowledge of domestic, state and international, corporate and partnership tax law and regulations.
- Highly developed ability to think analytically.
- Strong understanding of ASC 740 and income tax reporting requirements
- Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work and make decisions independently
