Financial Advisory Services Vice President
This position is located in our New York, Dallas, Chicago, or San Francisco offices and mainly supports the Financial Advisory Services (ractice. The FAS practice applies financial, economic, and data analysis expertise and experience to assist our clients address their critical issues. The qualified candidate will work closely with AlixPartners' senior economists and experts to address complex issues in economics, finance, statistics, and econometrics associated with commercial litigation, business performance, and investigations. Examples of our services include:
- Litigation Support and Valuation
- Econometric methods and statistical modeling
- Financial damage analysis.
- Expert reports and testimony.
- Valuations of businesses, securities, real estate, machinery & equipment, intellectual property and other intangible assets.
- Merger simulations, market definition.
- Business Analytics
- Application of economic concepts and econometric analysis within corporate settings.
- Improvement of business performance using economic models, tools, and reasoning.
- Integration of economic theory and applied analytics to address corporate problems.
- Development of tools and dashboards for use by business management.
Responsibilities: - Generate and manage large and complex data sets.
- Formulate hypotheses relevant for the issues being addressed.
- Apply statistical analysis.
- Develop and run econometric models in Stata, SAS, R, and/or other statistical programs.
- Organize documents and work papers, including the preparation of supporting materials for expert reports and other deliverables.
- Review and summarize materials produced in litigation matters such as depositions, financial statements, and client data.
- Draft written reports.
- Prepare presentation materials.
- Perform quality control reviews over work product.
- Use client data to develop actionable recommendations within a variety of functional areas.
- Develop and assess business projections and forecasts.
- Communicate with clients and colleagues in written and oral form.
Minimum Qualifications: - A Master's degree or higher in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, or other quantitative fields.
- Specialization in industrial organization, applied econometrics, applied microeconomics, financial economics, and quantitative methods preferred.
- Strong technical economics training and economic reasoning skills.
- Well-developed analytical abilities.
- A desire to apply statistical tools to address real-world problems.
- Ability to prepare econometric models and perform statistical analysis.
- Proficient in Stata, SAS, R, and/or other statistical programming languages.
- A professional demeanor with advanced communication and presentation skills.
- Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks, self-prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently with an entrepreneurial attitude.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice and for extended periods of time.
- Ability and willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule in order to meet client needs.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Desire and interest to meet new people and network socially.
- A positive and energetic attitude.
