GENERAL SUMMARY: The Vice President, Actuarial and Analytics, is responsible for all HAP (including HAP Midwest) financials analysis including predictive modeling, medical expense budgeting and tracking and together with Underwriting and Finance, coordination with consulting actuaries for rate filings and year end certifications.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Lead a team that develops analytics that serve as the foundation for medical cost reporting and projections.
· Develop annual medical expense budgets and routine variance reports to track performance.
· Serve as Business owner for the Enterprise Data Warehouse
· Partner with Medical Management, Operations and others to develop, track and validate opportunities to appropriately reduce medical expenses.
· Continuously improve analytic techniques and predictive models to support medical cost reduction and health cost initiatives
· Supports development of revenue and claim estimates including but not limited to risk scores & adjustments, claim reserves, premium deficiency reserves drug rebates and reinsurance recoveries and reserves.
· Works closely with the Sales and Underwriting staff in the development and production of customer reports.
· Develops and produces timely and meaningful reports for providers and provider groups including information on cost, quality, utilization and risk score performance.
· Compiles, maintains, and analyzes data for physician and other professional fee schedules including participating PCPs and specialists, and non-participating physicians to identify cost savings opportunities.
· Compiles, maintains, and analyzes hospital and other facility rates to identify cost savings opportunities leading to local initiatives. Reviews and facilitates Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from ancillary providers whose services match a need in a local or regional contract. Analyzes and recommends resolutions of contract barriers, considering prevailing local nuances.
· Ensures implemented systems are meeting the desired objectives, participates in optimization initiatives, and recommends remediation tactics as necessary. Stays current on informatics trends, experiences and approaches, helps to develop application implementation strategies and assists in the development of strategic plans for clinical information systems.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE · Bachelor's degree in a finance or quantitative discipline, Master's degree preferred
· Actuarial Background and/or Actuarial Credential ASA or FSA preferred
· 6+ years of full time experience leading data driven projects/initiatives using advanced analytical techniques
· 3+ years in the Healthcare industry including experience in Commercial, Medicare and/or Medicare, etc.
· At least 5 years of managerial experience, preferably directing other leaders
· Advanced proficiency in Excel, especially model development
· Experience with data visualization tool, Tableau preferred
