Our Seating Division is looking for a Vice President of Quality for its Headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI
The main missions of the role are to:
- Leads the Company Health, Safety and Environmental team in ensuring and promoting a safe and hazard free environment for all employees safety
- Leads the Customer Quality function in fulfilling Customer requirements and Customer Satisfaction measures.
- Monitors the progress of programs by customer and internal indicators to assure green Gate Reviews
- Contributes to Program Review Committees and tackles PQ related tasks
- Assures the application of the 7 Quality Basics in Development in FAS Development Programs
- Leads, coaches and monitors the performance improvement of the global Program Quality Network
- Guarantees acquisition and program quality activities aligned with customer expectations
- Ensures Quality Customereeds transmitted by Quality Customer function are taken into consideration by operations
- Develops and facilitates the quality convergence plans for applicable plants
- Assures that specific analysis procedure of the warranty claims is in place and that the production plants perform the analysis of these parts
- Leads coordination of Warranty with the objective to reduce customer Safety & Regulatory impact
- Ensures the compliance with Safety & Regulation and Automotive Standards (PDCA)
- Ensures Safety & Regulatory policy deployment convergence plan
- Guarantees existent Safety & Regulatory standards and participants in their further development
- Monitors Safety & Regulatory audit status per product line and drives the continuous improvement
- Verifies the security of Safety & Regulatory characteristics along product life cycle.
- In the case of sensitive situations (i.e. Safety & Regulatory alert) ensures that appropriate actions are initiated.
- Responsible for lessons learned capitalization on HSE matters to HSE manufacturing functions
- Drives resolution of issues related to Quality management systems and creating a culture of system discipline
- Leads the management level escalation for the complete portfolio of products delivered to Customers of the dedicated region for Quality related issues
- Follows up on the alerts issued by the plants until final closure of all required tasks closing of the investigations
- Stop any process or product delivery in case of serious non-conformance or safety related risk
- Maintain Quality Management Systems to ensure they are updated and aligned with internal and Customer requirements.
- Designs, defines, launches and tracks training plan for function to ensure Quality organization is well trained to meet the customersquirements Collaborates with the Purchasing organization in the Supplier Quality Assurance activities and initiatives
- Ensures that quality procedures are applied for all VA/VE activities
- Responsible for identifying the performance variability issues and having them fixed Reports on the Quality Performance Indicators related to Customer (customer PPM, Internal QRCI activity, complaints, other customer specific indicators if applicable) and internal requirements in development phase and serial life
- Responsible for consolidation of all KPI performance in the whole perimeter including Quality cost tracking and HSE measurements
- Responsible for Quality targets definition and deployment
- Establishes and develops Quality organization and ensure appropriate skills staffing
- Manages with transparency, autonomy and is accountable for performance in line with the Code of Management.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have/be:
10 years of professional manufacturing experience (automotive industry preferred)
Experience with customer relations/management preferred
Automotive experience with quality systems and standards preferred, Internal auditor experience preferred
Business and finance basics
Knowledge of automotive Quality tools and Quality managements system
Knowledge of IATF 16949
Customer specific requirements
Solid knowledge of Quality in Production
Process orientation
Leadership skills
Communication skills English Language fluency required
Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish and/or French)
