Position Overview: The VP - Human Resources (Vice President - Human Resources) is responsible to oversee all HR operations including: Benefits, Training and Development, Team Member Relations, HRIS, Compensation and Employment. All duties are performed in accordance with departmental and the Sands Bethlehem (the dsolicies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities: - Develops a working knowledge of all Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) rules, regulations and Internal Controls.
- Provides senior management with accurate information and balanced opinion/judgment on important team member relations issues.
- Participates daily in the operation; possess a working knowledge of all department and company policies and procedures, and Rules of Conduct, and must enforce the same.
- Design budget and ensure financial objectives are met.
Review, evaluate and update monthly P&L statements.
- Competently administers benefit plans and complies with various reporting requirements, e.g., corporate, state, insurance carrier, etc.
- Analyzes and responds appropriately to issues raised by various surveys.
- Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the companyiversity commitment; adherence to the companytatus quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies, legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements.
- Effectively advocates Human Resourcesograms and policies to committees, department heads and other appropriate groups.
- Responsible for delegating tasks and department assignments or projects, meeting deadlines related to those assignments.
- Directs others in completion of a task or assignment. Render advice and provide expertise or judgment based on information gathered, studied, analyzed or reviewed.
- Focuses on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources (staff and budgetary).
- Evaluates the schedule or timelines related to the completion of assignments, while maintaining service and/or product quality.
- Follows the organizationppropriate communication channels when giving feedback, instructions and general information to team members.
- Responsible for the timely evaluation of all direct reports and conducting introductory period and annual performance reviews.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Employment Requirements:
- 21 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- Bacheloregree in Business, Human Resource Management or related field; Masteregree preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both in oral and written form.
- Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to the Sands appearance standards.
- Maintain consistent adherence to the Sands Customer Service Standards (Standards of Steel).
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Specific Position Requirements:
- 10+ years of executive level experience dealing with a large work-force environment required.
- 10+ years of Human Resource experience.
- Hospitality industry preferred with a 4 star/diamond property.
- Knowledge of labor unions and collective bargaining preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
