Functions/Duties of Position
The faculty member will be expected to provide - teaching at the masters and doctorate level within the School of Public Health and to provide mentoring to students. The faculty member will also participate in research activities with faculty from across OHSU, including collaborations with the Center for Health Systems Effectiveness (CHSE), a center within the School of Medicine devoted to developing objective, empirical research to inform policy.
Key Responsibilities Include: 1. Provide leadership and exercise initiative in formulating research designs, developing study protocols and plans, devise appropriate analytical study frameworks for potentially novel research approaches. Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals.
2. Contribute to and/or collaborate on projects related to the formulation of state and federal healthcare and payment policies.
3. Serve as a mentor and advisor for Masters and PhD students in the OHSU/PSU School of Public Health.
4. Obtain federal grant funding to support research activities.
5. Forge research relationships that advance the strategic goals of SPH, and engage in collegial activities in support of the SPH mission.
Job Requirements Required Qualifications: - PhD in economics, public health, health services, or related fields, or an MD with an MPH or MPP and emphasis in health policy with relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications: - Researchers with strong scholarly credentials and a promise of external research funding preferred.
