The Vice President (VP) Marketing, Strategy, and Capture (MS&C) is responsible for external outreach and customer contact with Government and adjacent business customers to promote Aleut Management Support Services Lines of Business (Operations and Maintenance, Engineering and IT, IT Value Added Reseller, Construction, and Professional Services). The VP MS&C will support the LOB leaders by helping identify and developing capture plans for new business targets; supporting the management of LOB new business pipelines; identifying and developing relationships with potential teaming partners; and developing win strategies for new business opportunities. Additionally, the VP MS&C will manage Aleuteb and social media presence; developing and maintain marketing materials; manage the company brand; maintain the overall company new business pipeline and work closely with the VP Business Development, to ensure business intelligence and strategy is successfully translated into winning proposals. Required Skills
- Meet with organizations/businesses to qualify them as potential customers
- Research and qualify data and individuals leading up to a Gate 1 (Interest/No-Interest) Review with Senior Management
- Research and develop strategic and tactical marketing plans that support the AMS growth strategy
- Coordinate with the LOB leads and their Directors of Business Develop to develop an integrated new business pipeline.
- Manage the GovWin and Deltek CRM products and tools
- Develop and maintain marketing and promotional materials, videos and collateral
- Establish meaningful rapport with identified customers to fully understand and influence their wants, needs and be able to later translate them into operational requirements
- Leverage existing and establish new high level customer contacts into qualified business opportunities
- Establish and maintain long term relationships with both Government and Business Customers
- Lead the capture of new business opportunities
- Manage and coordinate pursuit RFI responses as appropriate
- Develop, maintain, and implement new business pursuit action plans in close coordination with AMS leadership and Capture Team personnel
- Keep abreast of latest business trends, user requirements, and competitive analysis for responsible markets
- Support development of business case analyses to prioritize internal discretionary resources and research investments in response to customer requirements
- Identify key service differentiators and discriminators that apply to prospective customers as well as logical areas for diversification of current core competencies
- Capture emerging trends within Government Service sectors and develop corresponding marketing strategies
- Develop execution strategies around contract risk and opportunities by identification, quantification, and mitigating action plans
- Develop initial pricing insight and strategies with prospective customers
- Identify pricing opportunities, and collaborate with the VP BD and the LOB leadership on cost targets
- Manage the Aleut web and social media presence
- Coordinate Aleutarticipation in industry groups, conferences, and symposiums
- Provide leadership in the development of joint ventures, affiliations and partnership arrangements.
- Oversee and direct market research, competitor analyses and customer service and retention monitoring processes and initiatives.
Ability to meet deadlines, work in teams or independently prioritize work, and contribute to several priorities simultaneously. Must have the ability to work in a decentralized work environment where remote communication and staff management is required. Must have functional proficiency in business applications. Solid inter-personal communications skills are a must. Confidence and oral competence in meetings, presentations and briefings is required. Ability and proficiency in business writing is required.
Must be physically capable of traveling both nationally and internationally. Must have ability to maintain assigned work hours. Extended work days and work weeks are expected, when required. Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time. Required Experience
- Minimum of 10-years of Federal sales, marketing or business development experience
- A strong set of contacts within Federal Markets
- A documented track record business development success - major wins/captures, strategic leadership
- Proven experience opening new government markets and/or developing new services in existing government markets
- Demonstrated experience interacting with customer and industry executives at senior levels
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects with personnel from diverse disciplines and experiences
- Excellent written communications and presentations skills
- Current knowledge of key Federal business companies and a strong ability to identify potential teaming partners
- Senior level business development strategy creation and execution experience
- Demonstrated success in winning large (
$50M) Government contracts * Experience successfully managing opportunity pursuits across long (18-24 month) sales cycles
- Must be an excellent writer, reviewer, and leader
- Experience using GovWin and Deltek CRM
- Competence using the Microsoft Office Suite of tools is required
- May require the ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate national security clearance up to and including Top Secret.
