The President and CEO is responsible for the overall management of the Foundation as well as the fundraising of the organization. The President and CEO is specifically or indirectly responsible for the following:
Responsibilities: - Developing a multi-faceted, multi-year fundraising strategy and related goals in support of the organization's overall Strategic Plan
- Implementing a fundraising and donor relations program. Initiating a grateful patient program
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Foundation
- Developing and managing the annual budget
- Presenting to the Foundation Board of Directors at its quarterly meetings
- Developing and maintaining relationships with UPMC Passavant, the UPMC system, the North Hills Community and business leaders in the Community
- Representing Passavant Hospital Foundation in the Community
- Overseeing the existing outreach program
- Developing and implanting procedures for making grants and the administration of any grants made
- Instituting a Planned Giving program
- Engaging with the volunteers of the organization
Performance Objectives:
- Identify, Cultivate, Solicit and Acknowledge Participation in the Mission
- This includes successful fundraising, Board management and community outreach.
- Establish and Sustain Internal and External Relationships
- This includes inspiring and managing the community outreach programs and the internal grant making process. This also includes managing relationships professionally and seeking out opportunities to share and disseminate information as appropriate. The President and CEO must have excellent written, verbal and electronic communication ability.
- Administer Policies and Procedures
- This includes managing the staff with the highest degree of professionalism. This also includes managing the budget, reviewing/creating guidelines as needed and seeking opportunities to become involved in the mission-centered programs of Passavant Hospital, UPMC and the greater community.
- Participate in Agency Planning
- Offer creative insight to the short and long-term planning of the overall organization.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree required
- MBA or equivalent preferred
- Nonprofit experience preferred
- Seven years prior experience health care environment with experience/participation in major foundation events
- Substantial prior successful experience with development and fundraising running a substantial business required
- Demonstrated communications savvy, including excellent writing and public speaking ability
- A high level of comfort with various forms of technology
- Substantial financial experience in developing and managing a corporate budget
- Substantial experience and knowledge with diverse, large investment portfolios
- An understanding of large scale health systems and Integrated Delivery and Finance Systems (IDFS).
- Strong work ethic with the flexibility to work weekends and evenings when required for events.
- The ability to successfully convene, collaborate and negotiate with diverse groups.
- A competent and natural external leader who can convey confidence, build relationships and represent the Foundation in the community
- Integrity beyond reproach, with follow through on commitments
- A trusted steward of public trust
