The Vice President of Strategic Sourcing and Operations - Americas is a dynamic role that serves as the strategic lead for over fifty (50) geographically dispersed Team Members within the Field Operations, Business Development, Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and Accounts Management teams. This role has primary responsibility for managing and growing the Hilton Supply Management (HSM) business for North America, including identifying and acquiring new customers, driving revenue through existing accounts, and managing strategy and suppliers in the key spend categories. The ideal candidate will be able to think creatively in an ambiguous and multifaceted environment.
What will I be doing?
As a Team Member in this role, you will be responsible for:
Strategic & Entrepreneurial Thinking:
- Design and execute the strategic planning and coordination of specific product and service initiatives to advance company goals, while supporting and directing communication plans of key messages to internal and external stakeholders
- Construct and streamline business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department, and across the global enterprise
- Mitigate risks proactively by strategically prioritizing resources to meet stakeholder demands
Leadership & Influence:
- Cultivate close, influential, strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders that will enable HSM to develop on-going revenue stream through the creation of new programs and processes that will expand the scope of business opportunities globally
- Leverage your lead role to encourage business development growth by successfully leading the Business Development team to actively promote the HSM value proposition to Hilton owners and third party companies
- Guide and develop the team to influence stakeholders to adopt and utilize HSM products, processes, and programs to increase revenue through organic growth
- Lead the Category Management and Strategic Sourcing team to create and execute strategies to drive cost savings, cost avoidance, as well as identify demand management opportunities, manage supplier performance, and reduce supplier risk for resupply
- Manage the Field Operations team to execute sourcing strategies effectively, drive compliance to HSM programs and identify demand management opportunities at the hotel level
- Direct the Account Management team, whose remit is to increase organic growth by creating and executing sourcing strategies, by driving compliance to HSM programs at the management company level
People Management:
- Lead a large team of seven (7) direct reports with an overall team of fifty (50) geographically and functionally (Account Management, Strategic Sourcing, Customer Engagement, Business Development, Field Operations) dispersed Team Members to encourage the development of the team and create an environment that encourages active participation, innovation and teamwork with paths for advancement and improvement
- Determine staffing needs and oversee the recruiting, selecting, hiring, training and developing of department Team Members or contract Project Managers as required to ensure top level talent is in place within the organization
- Manage departmental processes and procedures to ensure the strategies and directives of the department are carried out in accordance with department and company objectives
- Translate organizational goals and objectives into performance standards for the division, departments, and individual positions
- Work with direct reports on goals to assist in accomplishing department initiatives, and their own career objectives
Business Performance & Accountability:
- Establish annual Americabjectives, measures, and performance targets
- Identify key results to achieve include revenue growth, savings targets, and employee and customer satisfaction
- Identify and monitor key performance indicator factors to ensure HSM outputs meet stakeholder requirements and expectations
- Assess actual performance against standards to determine whether the department is on target to reach its goals and take corrective actions as necessary
- Develop and enforce country and regional-specific procurement policies and processes
- Work with Human Resources, Legal, and Finance leadership to ensure the overall strategic direction of the team is consistent with and supported by all these areas
- Ensure a return on invested capital and time resources by reviewing and making appropriate adjustments in activities and expenses throughout the fiscal year to ensure optimal financial results
Qualifications What are we looking for? To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- BA/BS Bacheloregree in related industry, academic discipline
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience from working in a related career
- A minimum of ten (10) years of related procurement experience
- Director level experience; Management of entire department
- Ability to travel as necessary
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- MA/MS Masteregree in a related industry
- A minimum of eight (8) years of Management experience
- Understanding and exposure to ERP, eProcurement, or related systems and software
- Hospitality and Global work experience
- Executive level experience
- Licenses/Certificates: CPSM, CPM, or CHA
