The President, IU Health West Central Region (WCR), is responsible for administering, directing, and coordinating all activities of the organization to carry out its objectives in the providing of health care and the furtherance of education, research, and participation in community health programs. The President is responsible for the planning and operations of the organization, and serves as a liaison with the governing body and the medical staff. The incumbent maintains the control and effective utilization of physical, financial and managerial resources and implements and upholds the vision and values of the organization. He/She oversees the application and implementation of established policies, and ensures overall compliance with regulatory requirements. The President has the ultimate accountability for driving preeminence throughout the assigned areas. The President also acts as a partner of the IU Health system leadership team and participates in the strategic planning and the attainment of goals for area of responsibility. IU Health is seeking a dynamic and accomplished healthcare executive who can work effectively in a highly matrixed and relationship-driven culture. The President must be a visionary leader who knows how to effectively drive change in a complex and distributed yet system-oriented environment. The incumbent must embody IU Health's mission, embrace its vision and must lead through respect, humility and intellectual curiosity.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- A Master's (or advanced) Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Experienced healthcare executive with a proven track record in a multi-hospital system implementing quality measurement system and leading clinical transformation to reduce variation.
- A strong business, planning, communication, and financial skill set with the ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to implement patient care process reengineering resulting in lower cost/higher quality care, in collaboration with key leadership across the care continuum.
- Strong demonstrated transformational and complex, matrixed leadership skills (inspiring, problem solving, practices evidence based decision making, communication across multiple organizations, executing).
- A blend of management skills with technical expertise proven by superior planning, decision-making, negotiation, leadership, business and financial management skills/knowledge with a focus on adding value to the bottom line of the business fostering a preeminent healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated experience and excellence in coaching, collaborating, negotiating, influencing, and leading groups and programs.
- Excellent executive, presentation, and communication skills at all levels and experience in working with an executive leadership team.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with all levels of employees, management and community/regional leaders and a proven leader who is an effective, creative and visionary problem solver.
- A proven leader of people who is able to recruit, develop and mentor a top-notch team capable of supporting future growth and has demonstrated leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community.
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulatory agency guidelines and laws.
