The Firmwide Risk Identification team is a newly launched cross-LOB Corporate Risk function with an expansive mandate of critical importance to the firm and its capital planning process. The team undertakes many risk identification tasks, but at its core, is primarily responsible for:
Leading the design and integration of ongoing risk identification processes with capital planning and stress testing activities
Coordinating the Firm's ongoing risk identification process including review & challenge, reporting and analysis of risks identified in a centralized Material Risk Inventory
Risk identification is a high-profile activity at the firm given the important role it plays in the firmwide capital planning framework. The team is implementing a comprehensive and repeatable process. The Vice President will closely partner with Risk Identification team members and individuals across the LOBs and will report to the Managing Director, Risk Identification.
Job Responsibilities Consolidate and maintain the centralized material risk inventory
Identify and aggregate cross-LOB risk themes in centralized material risk inventory
Lead quarterly reporting process for LOB Risk Committees, Firmwide Risk Committee and Directors Risk Policy Committee
Lead coordination with Firmwide Risk Executives in support of their review and challenge of risks in the centralized material risk inventory
Perform ad hoc analysis on risks in the centralized material risk inventory
Coordinate with IT on implementation of technology toolset to support the Risk ID process
Maintain / administer Risk Identification IT toolset on an ongoing basis
Maintain and update Risk Identification Standards as necessary
Oversee three junior resources
Minimum Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred
5+ years work experience in the financial services industry, preferably in Risk Management
Strong analytical background with an ability to recognize patterns in large amounts of data
An understanding of Risk Management concepts and frameworks; experience in Enterprise Risk Management preferred
Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism and self-motivation
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Ability to work well under pressure with commitment to deliver under tight deadlines
Ability to work independently
Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
