Your Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for a global business unit strategic demand and spend ensuring that all services and materials are sourced at best cost under consideration of performance, time, quality and in compliance with Heraeus procurement guidelines and local government regulations.
- Accountabile for all strategic and operational procurement activities and processes for the global business unit.
- Develop and implement regional/global procurement strategies in cooperation with the global procurement network and in alignment with business strategy.
- Develops senior level business relationships with suppliers. Handle the negotiation of long-term contracts and partnership agreements with key suppliers.
- Drive operational excellence in procurement processes in alignment with other global business partners.
- Drive all purchasing policies, processes and administer all purchasing activities on a global scale to optimize cost, quality and service level of suppliers.
What is Required for this Role
- Procurement expert with a minimum of 5+ years strategic sourcing experience supporting a global matrixed manufacturing organization.
- MBA degree or equivalent in business or related subject or relevant experience.
- Procurement experience in the Automotive Tier 1 or 2 industry strongly preferred.
- This position requires a highly skilled negotiator who has proven success in the negotiation of long term contracts.
- International travel is required - on average 3 - 4 trips to Germany and 2 trips to Asia per year is required.
