Position overview The Democratic National Committee's Deputy Director of Direct Marketing will assist the Director of Direct Marketing in managing all aspects of direct marketing mail, telemarketing, and related online fundraising programs, one of the largest and most active grassroots fundraising programs in politics. It's imperative that the direct marketing program is integrated with online fundraising efforts and maximizes fundraising efforts for the Party.
What You'll Do - Put strategy into practice - making sure the operations of the direct mail, telemarketing, and related integrated online programs match organizational goals.
- Manage select direct marketing staff.
- Support innovative efforts to best reach and mobilize our grassroots to tell a story about the work of the DNC that is integrated across all channels.
- Coordinate with peers on the communications and mobilization teams to ensure tight messaging and creative integration are consistent for DNC supporters across channels.
- In coordination with the Director of Direct Marketing, help manage vendors and consultants for all direct marketing programs (including but not limited to direct mail, telemarketing, and related online campaigns).
- Utilize analytical skills to track, understand, and make strategic decisions based on direct marketing analysis and statistical performance.
- Support the Director of Direct Marketing in creating and managing the direct marketing budget, including campaign performance projections, cash flow, and expense flow.
- Oversee all organizational printing requests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications - Ideal candidate will be a team player, faster learner, and self-starter; you're fully committed to helping the Mobilization team accomplish its goals.
- 3+ years of relevant experience for an electoral campaign, advocacy organization, or non-profit organization.
- Demonstrable experience managing direct mail, telemarketing, online campaigns and developed knowledge of fundraising best practices.
- Experience with direct marketing and telemarketing revenue and expense budgets, including cash and expense flow projections.
- Experience with direct marketing data and analytics, including knowledge of direct marketing statistics and benchmarks.
- Strong management and communication skills with both internal staff and outside vendors. You should know how to motivate a team, cultivate teamwork, and inspire others. You must be in DC or be willing to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area.
