The studio director will oversee and manage the workflow of the Shiseido Digital Studio ensuring projects and resources are properly scheduled and allocated.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: (List what are the main tasks)
· Build and oversee the studio team of photographers, retouchers, video editors and producers.
· Manage workflow process and relationships with brand partners.
· Work with brands to process quarterly shoot briefs, manage studio shoot calendar and allocate work to multiple photo teams.
· Work with brands on quarterly and annual planning for shoots.
· Consistently work towards evolving the workflow process and improving the studio efficiency.
· Manage contracts for all outside talent including models, prop stylists and hair stylists.
· Manage studio budget ensuring all shoots stay within budget and any shifts are properly communicated and agreed upon.
· Oversee operational budget for studio and overall studio maintenance.
Working Relationships/Key Stakeholders:
· Brand stakeholders from each of the Shiseido brands
· Outside vendors and contractors
· Internal photography team
· CCD and senior staff from JWALK
· Corporate Finance, HR, IT and Legal teams
Financial Accountability (budget/sales etc) applicable
· Expert knowledge of photo-related budgets and ability to produce content and make recommendations within budget.
· Responsible for overall studio operational, staffing and production budgets.
Qualifications & Competencies: (List required or desired education; competencies; experiences; soft & hard skills)
· B.A. or comparable work experience.
· 5+ years experience as a producer or studio manager.
· Experience with luxury/fashion/beauty a must.
· Knowledge of studio, photo and video equipment.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to prioritize and manage a team and multiple shoots/projects simultaneously.
· Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Professional maturity and experience managing a team.
· Proactive problem solving abilities with excellent verbal & written communication skills.
· Experience negotiating client and vendor relationships.
