UPMC Corporate Services, together with Pensiamo, our affiliated healthcare supply chain management company, is now hiring a full-time Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing. This position will be based in our offices located in Downtown Pittsburgh.
The UPMC Supply Chain operations have the primary responsibility to manage all commercial aspects of UPMC's non-payroll spend, and to deliver products and services that meet specifications of our business. As the Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible for developing best-in-class sourcing and contracting strategies and practices to effectively reap maximum value for UPMC and its associated entities. As a key member of the company's supply chain leadership team, a primary goal of the Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing is to lower UPMC supply and operating expenses while increasing service levels in an effort to enhance operating effectiveness and financial performance.
This position will report directly to the President of Pensiamo.

Responsibilities: - Accountable for meeting financial targets and supply base performance
- Builds and mentors the sourcing and contracting teams to advance a world-class SCM organization
- Develops and cultivates mutually beneficial supplier relationships that ensure continuity of supply while maintaining unquestionable integrity
- Promote an internal and external (supplier) environment where continuous improvement is the goal
- Provides leadership over the sourcing and contracting functions for assigned categories of spend
- Representative of the company at industry events, member meetings and supplier venues
- Works cross-functionally to forge collaborative relationships with clinical, administrative, financial, and operational leadership to drive best practices
- Works with other SCM leaders and suppliers to optimize P2P and distribution efficiencies and secures favorable transaction terms
Qualifications Applicants must have:
- BS in related field
- 15 years experience in the progressive procurement/sourcing arena or related experience
- 10 years management and strategic experience in this field
OR, substitute the above:
- MBA/MS in related field
- 10 years experience in the progressive procurement/sourcing arena or related experience
- 7 years management and strategic experience in this field.
