Job Description Job duties include but are not limited to: * Hiring CCO Staff, including the Development, Communications, and Creative Directors.
- Organizing and leading weekly meetings with the Executive Staff.
- Organizing the selection of the CCO Program Coordinators.
- Acting as a liaison between the CCO in the University of Kansas and greater Lawrence community.
- Conducting regular contact with community partners including surveys to ensure positive programming.
- Maintaining contact with the Roger Hill Volunteer Center (United Way), the Center for Civic and Social Responsibility and others to understand current service needs in Lawrence and on campus.
- Coordinating collaborative events with outside organizations and student groups.
- Attending CCO Advisory Board meetings.
- Acting as the chair of the CCO Advisory Board, planning and leading Board meetings.
- Attending Hawk Week planning committee, Student Senate meetings, KU Fights Hunger meetings, among others.
- Act as the primary planner of the CCO Hawk Week activities (Super Service Saturday).
- Assisting in organizing year-end CCO celebration.
- Work with the CCO Advisor on long-term CCO goals and their implementation.
- Assisting in peer advising by advising up to 6 CCO programs, as well as the Development Director.
- Assisting Managing Director with events as needed.

Work Schedule Approximately 29 hours per week. Position will be at an hourly rate through the summer, then salaried beginning in the fall.

Position Overview This position coordinates and oversees the general operations of the Center for Community Outreach to develop positive relationships and effective programming with community partners and the KU community. In particular, the Executive Director is tasked with intensively communicating with KU administration, Lawrence community leaders, KU students, and members of various groups, organizations, and committees. The Executive Director also oversees the CCO staff and serves as Chair of the CCO Advisory Board. Additional responsibilities include advising 6 CCO programs, sitting on various boards and committees, and planning large CCO events. In doing this, the Executive Director must also work closely with the Managing Director to ensure that internal programs, development, and publicity match the community needs while fulfilling the organization's mission.
