Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Assistant Director of Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience will work as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience staff and serve under the direct supervision of the Director of Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience. This individual will oversee marketing plan development and implementation, ticket sales, sponsor activation, and event presentation for Volleyball and Men's Lacrosse with a key focus on maximizing ticket revenue, increasing fan attendance, and enhancing the Maryland Athletics brand.
The Assistant Director will oversee student/on-campus engagement for football and will be responsible for planning and producing the Red/White Football Spring Game. Additional responsibilities include: Football, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball and Olympic sport gameday operations, fan development and revenue generation, as well as assisting the Associate Director of Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience with the execution of fan surveys, focus groups, and data analysis.
The Assistant Director of Marketing will also oversee and manage the student internship program, serve on the ps After Darkanning committee, coordinate all Olympic sport photo shoots and collateral design, and provide assistance with various duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing Strategy & Fan Experience.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree required in sports management, marketing, advertising or another related field or equivalent education/experience required; five years of experience without a degree.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of sports marketing experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Photoshop. Must be able to work flexible hours, including frequent evenings and weekends.
Preferences: Sports marketing experience in the NCAA Division I at a Power 5 institution preferred. Experience with revenue generating sports is preferred.

Physical Demands The scope of this position requires frequent weekend and evening work (Non-standard work hours). While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a computer and other office devices such as telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc. Constantly moves about the facility and campus. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
