POSITION PURPOSE The Director Product Marketing leads a team which oversees the product development process including: Identification of unmet customer's needs, developing products and solutions which address those needs, developing product and portfolio strategies aligned with PDI's strategic imperatives, and supporting the sales organization to ensure attainment of forecasted revenues & margins. The focus will be in Environment of Care for PDI.
Job Responsibilities - Develop a customer focused team.
- Develop a team which utilizes Voice of Customer, Voice of Sales, and Voice of Technology to identify unmet customer needs.
- Lead the development of new products and/or suites of products which address unmet customer needs and create a sustainable competitive advantage for PDI.
- Lead the launch planning process, through new product launch, to ensure achievement of budgeted revenue goals.
- Ensure the Product Development Process includes a balanced portfolio of new product innovations (Core Growth, Core ROIC, and Strategic Bets).
- Ensure products advance through the Stage/Gate process meeting or exceeding milestones identified in the Charter and Contract.
- Lead the development of base business forecasts, latest estimates, and new products forecasts.
- Lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of market share performance.
- Develop BD&L competencies, as needed, to support acquisitions and licensing agreements.
- Lead the development of the annual strategic plan.
- Support the National Accounts and Health Systems teams with analysis, messaging, pricing, and other tools needed to renew and secure agreements.
- Support the sales organization via collateral, play books, clinical/technical data, and other materials as needed to achieve budgeted revenues.
- Participate in sales training and development of training content.
- Lead the development of KOLs and implementation of Regional P2P (peer-to-peer programs.
- Coach, mentor, and develop the Product Marketing team.
Accountabilities & Performance Measures
- Building talent and developing a high performance team.
- Achievement of contracted new product sales & profit for PDI.
- Achievement of contracted stage exits for new products.
- Achievement of contracted launch timing for new products.
- Accountable for implementing and training on PMO processes and organizational compliance with relevant SOPs.
Organizational Alignment
- Reports to the VP marketing or VP/GM.
- Manage the Product Development team.
- Collaborate with all cross-functional stakeholders ensuring flawless execution of duties.
- Collaborate with the Project Management Office insuring resources and timelines are aligned and projects launch on time.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four year college degree from an accredited institution.
- 7 - 10 years of product development, project or portfolio management or marketing management experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in leading multiple complex cross functional projects; PMP training and certification desirable but not required.
- Business intelligence and financial acumen.
- Demonstrated leadership across all functions and throughout all levels of the organization.
- PC proficiency, including Microsoft Project.
- Skills required: analytical, interpersonal, conceptual, decision making.
WORKING CONDITIONS NONE: Typical office environment; will involve travel between multiple PDI sites.
