What is a Marketing Director for Underground Technologies?
The Marketing Director leads a team of talented managers in the Underground Technology space. This includes inspection, locating, test & measurement and drain cleaning. This role is expected to lead critical elements such as: new product development, partner identification and relations, new business opportunities and organization planning/coaching. This role is located in our World HQ in Elyria (just a little west of Cleveland), Ohio USA.

The Marketing Director will work in a dynamic team environment, alongside Engineering, Sales, IT and Marketing Communications. They will have a deep understanding of what it means to develop and grow a business in an exciting market. They will have a passion for product and emerging technologies, such as IoT. A strong bias for action and collaboration will ensure that programs are delivered on time and results are strong. Their proven leadership track record will provide team motivation that encourages and retains talented managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Identify significant new product opportunities
- Reveal market white space in either adjacent or unserved markets that would add significant value to our brand and revenue
- Have the deepest understanding of RIDGID competitors in the Underground Technologies industry and be able to communicate current situations and potential next moves clearly to all levels of the organization
- Understand emerging technologies and business practices. Develop proposals to integrate the same into RIDGID products and services
- Manage priorities with strategic agility and in-depth, hands-on product expertise
- Build effective teams and develop direct reports
Qualifications Minimum Requirements - Proven leadership history
- A knack for communicating effectively and working as a team
- A proven ability to maintain a high level of organization and service, manage multiple projects and timelines
- Experience leading market research (both internal and external resources) to find opportunities in current and potential market spaces
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as outstanding attention to detail
- A Bacheloregree is required (preferably in Marketing or Business) or equivalent amount of pertinent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing (preferably in related industries)
Bonus Skills - Display cultural sensitivity given the global focus
- Competence with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strong budget and project management skills
