Summary/Objective The Sr. Director of Sales position is responsible for planning and implementing sales and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties.
Position description: Position is for an entrepreneurial national sales leader for a fast-growing early stage company (currently generating over $3m annual sales) in the emerging legal cannabis market. The position will be involved in leading and participating in the over sales and marketing effort of the company. The position is based in Denver, CO with moderate travel primarily in the United States with the possibility for some international travel.
Essential Functions - Develops and implements strategic sales plans for business to business and director to consumer products.
- Develops and manages sales operating budgets.
- Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
- Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
- Ensures effective control of sales results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of sales objectives falls within designated budgets.
- Evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Monitors competitor products and sales activities.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
- Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
- Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
- Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
- Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
- Directs product research and development.

- Bachelor's Degree and Preferred Field of Study: Business, Finance or Marketing

- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- Able to attract, motivate and retain talent in regional leadership and sales roles
- 8+ years' experience in an outside sales role
- 3+ years management/supervisory experience in a proven successful sales position
- An enthusiastic advocate for the legal cannabis industry. Preferences will be given to individuals with legal cannabis industry experience and existing relationships.
