Director, Business Planning and Analysis, GPDO

Summit, NJ

Purpose of the function

This role provides business planning and analysis support to the Global Pharmaceutical Development Operations (GPDO) organization. The position assists the Executive Director, Business Analytics and Financial Planning in providing Finance leadership to the GPDO organization specifically focusing on the CAR-T / Cellular development program, CAPEX, strategic planning and initiatives.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide finance leadership to the CAR-T / Cellular development program including reporting, quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, strategic planning and financial analysis for the program
• Assist Executive Director in developing and implementing an integrated 3-year operating plan and Long-Range plan for GPDO including the planning, execution and presentation of key deliverables
• Monitor and coordinate collection of revisions/updates to business assumptions and strategies throughout GPDO organization and update the related financial models to assess and quantify impacts
• Support the analysis of GPDO strategic opportunities including make vs buy, footprint and capability assessments
• Partner with Operational Excellence team to manage operational excellence program in GPDO including regular review of financial program performance
• Oversee CAPEX management in GPDO including financial support for capital appropriation request (CAR) submissions, CAPEX forecasting and monitoring financial performance of CAPEX projects.
• Manage and develop direct report (s)
• Work on ad-hoc projects as assigned

Skills/Knowledge Required:

• BA or BS in Finance/ Accounting. MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred.
• Twelve plus years of accounting/financial experience with at least 6 plus years of relevant finance experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Highly motivated self-starter with a willingness to assume responsibility, take ownership for their work and intelligently challenge the status quo
• Excellent communication skills: written, oral and presentation skills including ability to present to senior management
• Strong ability to collaborate with all levels of management and to influence across multiple functions and geographies
• Excellent financial judgment and experience in strategic planning and financial analysis to supporting decision-making
• Cross-functional leadership skills with demonstrated ability to interact and lead at all levels of an organization
• Experience in cost accounting and continuous improvement/Six sigma principles a plus
• Oracle or comparable ERP system experience
• Strong PC skills including excellent proficiency with Excel and Powerpoint
