The Director of Tradeshows and Events will report Directly to The Vice President of Marketing Communications and Events. This role is responsible for leading a team of event and tradeshow managers to maximize our impact and return on investment globally. This position requires superior organization, negotiation, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage resources and budgets effectively and creatively. The ideal candidate must be able to think strategically, but also possess the hands-on experience in planning and executing all sizes of events and shows.
Responsibilities: - Oversee team to plan, manage and execute 250+ events each year including major marketing events, key tradeshows, user meetings, global roadshows and more.
- Deliver cutting edge trade show strategies, concepts, and objectives that deliver transformational experiences, impress customers, and turn customers into brand enthusiasts.
- Evaluate existing tradeshows and events to further refine our global strategy for attendance and identify new opportunities to engage with customer and prospects in meaningful ways.
- Manage development of tools and materials to provide global support for regional events and activities including process development, overall experience guidelines and asset development.
- Lead process development to ensure a more consistent customer experience across the globe.
- Infuse new and creative ways to engage customers during events to improve engagement and elevate the experience whether a tradeshow, user meeting or digital venue.
- Oversee vendor relationships ensuring high level of quality and output; onboard new and or consolidate new vendors and agencies as needed.
- Collaborate with brand management and illustrate the brand in action through our in person and digital events.
- Lead team to work closely with other members of the Marketing Communications to ensure promotional aspects prior, during and post events are executed flawlessly.
- Responsible for managing global tradeshows and events budget, ensuring quality and effective resource management during all stages of event planning and production.
- Work with sales and other key stakeholders to align tradeshow and event objectives

- Strong decision making ability; calculated risk taker
- Must be able to see helicopter view, but pay close attention to detail
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working on a matrixed, global organization
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE - Bacheloregree required; Masters or equivalent desired
- Minimum of 5 Years of experience in managing tradeshows, events, seminars, corporate meetings and regional training; healthcare experience preferred
- Experience managing vendors and outside agencies
- Experience managing direct reports th in office and remote
- Experience working across cultures and internationally in a matrixed environment
- This position requires up to 30% travel. Some of the travel is international.
