Job Description We are looking for a Director of Finance to oversee the day-to-day finance + accounting activities and manage a highly focused finance team in a mission driven organization. The Director of Finance will report to and work very closely with our Sr. Vice President/Chief Financial Officer.
Key Job Responsibilities 1. Directly manages the Finance staff, including but not limited to, conducting regular rounding meetings, on-boarding/orientation, scheduling/staffing, training, professional development and performance management.
2. Responsible for oversight of the all General Ledger Accounting processes, daily flow of receivables & payables, and month end close process, including review of all month end journal entries and accruals.
3. Prepares monthly financial statements, reviews them with SVP/CFO, prepares monthly reports given to directors and managers, as well as works with each to ensure proper posting and coding in accordance with the budget. Monitors and analyzes actual monthly operating results against operating budget as needed.
4. Performs financial analysis as requested by SVP/CFO
5. Assists SVP/CFO in preparation for annual budget
Schedule: Typical M-F, 9-5 schedule with some flexibility required. Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP | | Strong written & verbal communication skills| Self-motivated | Organized | Analytical
Bacheloregree in accounting or business administration or equivalent experience.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Minimum 10 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with at least 5 yearsperience managing finance or accounting team.
Proven proficiency with all aspects of general ledger and month end close responsibilities including: payables, receivables, account reconciliations through preparation of financial statements.
Must be comfortable managing a small team.
Excited about initiating, implementing and integrating financial technologies to streamline processes .
Proficient in Excel is a must.
Experience in a healthcare and/or non-profit field preferred.
Experience working in multi-entity accounting environment preferred.
Experience with Great Plains Dynamics or similar accounting program.
Experience with ADP Payroll Systems a plus.
Familiarity with federal cost reimbursement contracts a plus.
