American Career College (ACC) has been helping people succeed since 1978 and we are currently seeking a Program Director II, Surgical Technology. This is an outstanding opportunity for a service-oriented individual to help our students begin their journey toward their new careers.
SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director, Education provides leadership in managing any combination of: two campuses, over 250 students or degreed program. Manages, plans, and implements the Surgical Technology program in support of College, and/or departmental goals in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes that meet workplace and placement expectations. Participates in budget preparation and fiscal administration, curriculum development and coordination, determination of teaching assignments, supervision and evaluation of faculty, design and operation of program facilities, and selection/coordination of program specific external facilities and instruction. Provides professional leadership and support for teaching faculty; serves as a mentor and facilitator for faculty assigned; and enables an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS: - A minimum of a baccalaureate degree with academic preparation in the specific courses being taught is required.
- Must be a graduate from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or an otherwise recognized training entity (e.g., hospital- based program) in the specialty field or subject area in which they teach.
- Certification in the field of Surgical Technology through a national credentialing organization accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA) required.
- Must hold the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, if hired after July 1, 2010.
- Current drivericense.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of teaching or occupational experience in the subject field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of current operating room experience in the scrub role and/or three years of current experience as an instructor in surgical technology within the last five (5) years.
- Leadership knowledge in the program field to cultivate a learner-centered environment and to foster excellence.
- Knowledge in technological support and delivery of program area and services.
- Knowledge and evidence of strong supervisory and management skills as applicable to specialized program area.
- Knowledge of state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance and other regulatory standards such as Title IV, ABHES, CAAHEP, BPPE, and other accreditation standards.
- Experience with MS Office.
