Entity Group Trucks Operations
Position Description Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to establish and implement business strategies and direct the Business and Financial Controlling activities for the Volvo Group Trucks Operations New River Valley Facility.
Strategic and tactical internal and inter-organizational finance and accounting support for Volvo Group Trucks Operations New River Valley Facility. The Director of Finance - Business Controller has authority to act independently in accordance with the financial rules and policies defined by AB Volvo and reports directly to the Vice President and General Manager - New River Valley Assembly Operations.
Core Responsibilities - Provide proactive financial leadership
- Lead, coach and support employee development; promote teamwork
- Provide the financial expertise required for short-term tactical and long-term strategic planning
- Champion Lean activities and implement and drive the Cost Deployment program for the New River Valley Facility
- Ensure adherence to Volvo financial policies and procedures in financial reporting
- Provide interpretation of financial policies, governmental legislation, accounting principles, or customer financial requirements
- Facilitate calculation of Standard Cost of Sales and product cost follow up
- Analyze, consolidate, and direct all cost accounting procedures
- Analyze business development / investment opportunities and prepare and present business cases
- Responsible for the custody and integrity of plant assets
- Negotiate with internal and regional stakeholders with New River Valley Assembly Operations to meet short term and long term business objectives and KPIs
- Lead in improving and modifying existing business account and controlling methods, processes and plans to drive performance of strategic objectives
- Drive and challenge the leadership team on issues of finance and business management
- Champion the culture aimed at giving a strong image of the unit and being in line with AB Volvo values and principles (The Volvo Way, Code of Conduct, etc.)
- Act in close co-operation with other AB Volvo Financial units to efficiently develop and deliver services and products with the right Quality, Delivery time and Cost within agreed budget
- Participate in meetings and also in Boards, Councils, Committees and Networks upon request of the Vice President and General Manager - New River Valley Facility

Minimum Education and Experience Required
- B.S. or BA in Finance
- 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CMA or CPA helpful. Master's degree preferred
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of commercial vehicle industry and business analysis
