The Global Operational Excellence Director provides leadership and direction to accelerate the rate of continuous improvement across their assigned RTG Global Operations organization, functional groups and manufacturing plants. This leadership position will develop and deploy strategies that harness continuous improvement to reduce variability, reduce lead-time, improve Quality, increase efficiency and improve customer value in order to better fulfill our mission and materially improve the key financial and operating metrics.
The Global Operational Excellence Director is a passionate change agent focused on achieving measureable and sustainable results through the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement. This leadership position will develop and cascade a Continuous Improvement program to drive meaningful impact to the business through leading, managing and coaching the RTG Global Operational Excellence team.
This position can be based in Minneapolis (Rice Creek), MN or Memphis, TN.
DAY IN THE LIFE:
plement Continuous Improvement program to align organization on critical performance indicators while simultaneously driving breakthrough objectives
velop and implement strategies to integrate Lean and Continuous Improvement throughout assigned RTG Global Operations, Functional teams and Manufacturing Plants.

eate Lean Manufacturing expertise in the organization and lead lean transformations at internal manufacturing sites and suppliers.
itiate deployment (A3s) activities within assigned RTG Global Operations organization to ensure that improvement actions are directly linked to the strategic and tactical objectives of Medtronic and the business unit, emphasizing efficiency and effectiveness of business processes, and enabling breakthrough process changes and improvements.

ive Continuous Improvement through leading, supporting, and coaching of projects across end-to-end value streams (from supplier to customer) using Lean or other Continuous Improvement methodologies.

velop, advocate and enable the tools and methodologies to drive process excellence. These tools may include, but are not limited to, Lean, Six Sigma, project management and other improvement techniques. Lead and mentor Lean Sigma projects across Medtronic. Plan, support, and provide training to others in the Lean Sigma methodology.

MUST HAVE: chelor's degree and 10+ years of experience OR Master's Degree and 8+ years of experience
