Senior Director, Product Management, Colocation

The Director of Product Management, Colocation is overall accountable for Equinix Colocation end-to-end Product lifecycle management including customer inspired innovation, design & build, list pricing, product launch, and on-going lifecycle management. Works with the Regional Product Management teams, Regional Marketing teams, P&L/Country Managers, Sales and Vertical Directors to develop and execute effective product plans and strategies.
Responsibilities - Able to build strong working relationships across the Product Management, Product Engineering, Customer Experience, Marketing, Sales Leadership, IT, Engineering, Operations and P&L/Country Managers to introduce new products and enhancements
- Product Expert on the Colocation and DCIM product strategy, roadmap, business cases and overall global product requirements
- Become a market expert on Colocation and DCIM Portfolios
- Manages, develops and motivates staff, oversees activities of personnel (i.e., hires, coaches, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines, recommends termination as necessary)
- Manages global product managers and works with regional functional product teams to:
- Manage the Colocation product portfolio and performance with a strong focus on P&L
- Ensures visibility of the Colocation product portfolio cross functionally working towards global consistency and championing customer inspired innovation
- Oversees the execution of global product plans, in conjunction with Marketing, Product Engineering, IT and Regional Product Managers
- Owns end-to-end product launch activity including but not limited to requirements, messaging, sales enablement, list pricing, competitive positioning and customer feedback
- Set and approve pricing and discounts to meet revenue and margin objectives
- Responsible for non-standard contractual SLA approvals
- Oversees, drives and co-ordinates company product planning to support engineering and operations in ensuring delivery according to plan and budget
- Reviews market research to identify new opportunities
- Monitor evolution of customer segment needs, market and industry developments to ensure relevance of service offerings
- Conduct Win/Loss and ROI analysis
- Follow Equinix product lifecycle management process to ensure smooth handover of new products/services from product development to the product management teams in the country operations
Qualifications: - 20+ years experience with Business or Technology focus, with at least 5 years in leadership positions
- Product management experience gained from IT, networking, cloud, colocation (experience on colocation ideal); also experience in high-growth business sectors
- Proven ability to analyse complex business issues and identify, design and implement effective practical recommendations
- Deep customer-facing and market-facing experience
- Willingness to travel (25-40% Travel)
