• Location: Portland, OR (South Waterfront and Marquam Hill Campus)
• Job Type: Faculty

Functions/Duties of Position

The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals and objects of OHSU and the School of Dentistry and include:

• Participation in the education of dental students and residents
• Establishment and maintenance of a program of specific and general scholarly activity, and
• Participation in administrative committees and councils of the School of Dentistry and OHSU.

Specific responsibilities are:

• Day to day administration of the General Practice Residency
• Development, evaluation, revision and implementation of program curriculum
• Evaluation of the content of the general practice residency program
• Maintenance of Commission on Dental Accreditation standards and accreditation
• Recruit and involve community based faculty
• Evaluate residents in an ongoing manner
• Recruit applicants; organize and oversee resident selection process
• Supervise residents in clinical activities.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Dental degree (DDS/DMD) from a CODA accredited school
• Completion of GPR program from CODA accredited school
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Oregon Dental License (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment)
• Eligible for hospital privileges at OHSU
• Oregon Moderate IV Sedation Permit, parenteral and enteral (or eligibility to obtain upon offer)
• Able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in teaching, research, service, patient care, and academic management
• Demonstrated achievement in research including publications in peer reviewed journals
• Course director or co-directorship, and
• Demonstrated service activities such as committee participation at the school and university level.
