Functions/Duties of Position
The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals and objects of OHSU and the School of Dentistry and include:
- Participation in the education of dental students and residents
- Establishment and maintenance of a program of specific and general scholarly activity, and
- Participation in administrative committees and councils of the School of Dentistry and OHSU.
Specific responsibilities are:
- Day to day administration of the General Practice Residency
- Development, evaluation, revision and implementation of program curriculum
- Evaluation of the content of the general practice residency program
- Maintenance of Commission on Dental Accreditation standards and accreditation
- Recruit and involve community based faculty
- Evaluate residents in an ongoing manner
- Recruit applicants; organize and oversee resident selection process
- Supervise residents in clinical activities.
Job Requirements Required Qualifications: - Dental degree (DDS/DMD) from a CODA accredited school
- Completion of GPR program from CODA accredited school
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Oregon Dental License (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment)
- Eligible for hospital privileges at OHSU
- Oregon Moderate IV Sedation Permit, parenteral and enteral (or eligibility to obtain upon offer)
- Able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in teaching, research, service, patient care, and academic management
- Demonstrated achievement in research including publications in peer reviewed journals
- Course director or co-directorship, and
- Demonstrated service activities such as committee participation at the school and university level.
