Job Description The QMCT group applies a physician-scientist model to incorporate multi-scale computational modeling and simulation to bring specific value to development and discovery; catalyzing the organization towards a human-centric transformative quantitative biology strategy for drug development / discovery. QMCT includes platforms in clinical technologies (including digital and internet of things approaches), quantitative medicine and experimental medicine and relies on robust interfaces with groups across Biogen.
This role will report to the Head of Experimental Medicine and Innovation Operations and is responsible for providing operational and project management oversight for the delivery of human experimental biology studies, management of the QMCT Innovation Research Lab and leading cultural change efforts associated with adaptive learning within QMCT and the broader R&D organization. The candidate will be responsible for a number of areas that support QMCT, including:
- Serving as a strategic leader, assisting the Head of the Experimental Medicine and Innovation Operations in the creation, development of strategy and operation of the Laboratory on a day to day basis.
- Oversee the management of the QMCT laboratories and facilities to maximize project delivery and establish a collaborative environment for internal and external colleagues and partners.
- Lead change and QMCT strategic initiatives.
- Supervise the project management organization for QMCT, ensuring on-time/on-budget delivery of projects, value creation, and stakeholder, partner and customer engagement and management.
- Lead the management of QMCT laboratory operations and capacity.
- Lead a small team of dedicated Clinical Operations colleagues, ensuring human biology studies are executed in compliance with Good Clinical Practice and Biogen's SOPs
- Effectively engage partners from non-profit foundations, external companies, government agencies, academic partnerships or other Biogen units to ensure alignment between external relationships and capabilities with the QMCT organization.
- Assist in the development of enterprise level strategic communications and operational plans.

Qualifications + years' experience working in Healthcare or Life Sciences.

Summary The QMCT Head of Operations and Adaptive Learning (OPAL) will be a member of the newly created Quantitative Medicine and Clinical Technologies line, whose purpose is to provide Biogen with methods for the quantification of the health state of patients and provide a rigorous paradigm for improving clinical trial outcomes.
