What is the opportunity?
The US Credit Risk Policy team is seeking an Associate Director to join the team, to support us with policy implementation, data management, reporting, and data analytics for Combined US Operations. You will closely with colleagues across RBC and its subsidiaries as well as GRM Credit to source, understand, report and analyze credit data.
What will you do? - Implement credit requirements of our regulators (Federal Reserve and OCC) into RBC
- Draft credit policies for Combined US Operations, and make amendments to existing policies
- Assist with the annual risk appetite setting process, for the IHC and NY Branch, and its reporting to senior management and the US Risk Committee
- Assist with the setting and monitoring of credit risk limits within the IHC and its subsidiaries
- Produce the monthly and quarterly credit report to senior management / US Risk Committee
- Assist with the analysis and implementation of the Single Counterparty Credit Rule from the Federal Reserve, working with Toronto based colleagues on the Basel Large Exposure Framework
- Enhance the credit risk analytics for Combined US Operations
- Address ad hoc requests from senior management and the US Risk Committee, prepare presentations for our regulators on a quarterly basis
What do you need to succeed?
Ideal candidates have a strong academic background and a desire to work in a dynamic team environment. Candidates should be self-starters who are organized and collaborative. Candidates should be comfortable in meeting tight deadlines, have strong attention to detail and be well organized. Candidates will also be comfortable in dealing with colleagues across the organization, at a variety of levels. Sense of humor a must.
Must-have
- Highly skill level in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, comfortable working with credit data, and are very familiar with credit concepts and data.
Preferred - Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience within Credit Risk Management
- Knowledge of financial products and key risk concepts
- Broad understanding of the credit markets and RBC's business lines
- Strong analytical and personal skills
- Excellent writing skills, attention to detail
- Ability to navigate within RBC, and be effective in dealing with all levels within the organization
- Knowledge of bank regulation, especially pertaining to credit risk
